Re: Avalanche

I forgot another thing that was important to the 80 year old man. The knowledge his time for sharing these adventures with his grandchildren was closing. The determination to share the mountains with his grandchildren as long as he could must be strong. I can't help to have anything but admiration.

Re: Avalanche

After reading the article it makes sense to me. As people get older there is a a school of thought that they need to be protected from themselves. It's likely only hiking with his grandsons, both still in their teens, both still embracing and loving newfound personal freedom of being teens. Not only...

Re: Paddling Biking Fishing Gardening

Al, thank you for sharing. I usually paddle on the big water of the Great Lakes, or find my self paddling upstream to fish downstream. I rarely use my hand carved otter tail paddle, relying mostly on the power provided by my double bladed (kayak) paddle. I admire your ability to handle a tandem cano...

Re: Skis Stuck In Sweden - how to get them to the USA?

Sport Albert shipped my skis to me via DHL. I think DHL may have a larger European footprint. ...and Treefallen, you seem to have your share of lady friends. Just saying...;)

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

Crister, I have been attempting to explain how the wax pocket works on the FT 62 for quite some time. I think you did a good job explaining how it works. I enjoy my FT 62 very much, I have been skiing it for two seasons. I mounted mine 3-pin cable and enjoy the combination. I am another member that ...

Paddling Biking Fishing Gardening

I thought it would be nice to keep up with you guys through the "growing season". My fishing season started right after the thaw. I went out for Great Lakes white suckers during their spawning run. While they may not sound like a fish you would want to eat, they are excellent on the table....

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Sounds good to me Teleman. I was at my buddy's cabin Saturday for the Michigan trout opener. Fishing was tough with cold, cold water. I didn't catch many. I caught a fat 15 " brown trout that made a fantastic dinner last night. Tonight I'm eating a skinner 15" rainbow and a 10" rainbo...

Thanks Canna, you post four more interesting articles from The NY Times and I will need to pay to read them! Hope all is well! Please post if you decide to ski the Presidentials. With Woods out of commission, I'm not getting my New Hampshire fix.

Re: How to tele: 3-pin only

I can give you one tip, practice backfoot Telemark hockey stops. Really use that backfoot. I also wouldn't go into an 80 cm underfoot ski. If a ski has some early rise or rocker it will come to the surface. If I recall from your original post you already have some fatter skis. I also recommend a lea...
