We all have budgets, when you're young it's how to pay the rent. When we get older it might be saving for kid's college. Beyond then retirement starts looming larger. So maybe as we get older we could spend the cash, but we become reluctant. I thought it might be fun to talk about the gear we would ...

Re: Help Me Choose: Burly Leather Boots vs. Soft Plastic Boots

I am a US size 11. I do not have a wide foot, I wear Scarpa T-4's comfortably. I have a pair of hunting boots that are a wide, my wife bought them for me. I can lace them to fit, I put a lot of miles chasing beagles in cedar swamps in those boots. They might have not been the perfect fit, they laced...

LoFi, 1988 was WBP, way before plastic. Sounds like you ripped pretty well on leather! I bring that up because i am able to ski my Sbound 112's as well with my stiff leather boot as I can with my T-4. The ski is a nice ski, and it turns well, however it is an a backcountry ski. It is not made for re...

And hands on you bicycle handlebars. When your hands go down to your sides, your butt goes back behind you. You can't do anything if you butt gets behind you. You can't steer from the backseat.

Well T-$ to a fellow archer whom prefers a stick a string and wood arrows, the snow whispers, "It's all about the back foot". I was a ski instructor years ago. The ski school had some super top shelf people, not what you would think you would find on a bump 35 miles north of Detroit. I had...

I also do not have much experience with fat waisted modern skis. My only experience is with one of the early powder skis an Atomic Powde Cruise, which on a side note I still own, and often think about mounting. I was in Utah, there were three of us, we skied hard, if you lagged you were left for the...

I was doing a little window shopping. I logged onto Neptune, no Ingstad. They had Nansen,Skog, Ammudsen, and Gamme, but no Ingstad. Logged onto LaCordee, after all I have greenbacks! There he is Mr. Ingstad, but they sawed him off at 185! Window shopping ended fast.

Re: Pinnah Dave Link

Hey Bob, So- base binder on the entire base eh? Why did you choose to cork it in rather than iron it in? Are you applying kickwax to the entire base? Gareth, I have base bindered the entire base, which is what I did last year. In the temperatures I ski in, base binder made a very good glide wax. I ...
