Re: Downhill performance : Ingstad vs Rossi BC 110 vs Raab 68

Nitram, you cannot compare the FT 62 to the Ingstad, not in XC or downhill. I have not skied downhill where the FT 62 was not at least the equal of the S Bound 112 (which many believe to have the same core as the BC 110, but different bases and topsheet) The S-112 is nice in powder, no doubt, but th...

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Teleman, From what I read the Ingstad compares to the E-109, now it seems as though the guys prefer the Ingstad, they are similar, why buy two similar skis unless the E-109 just isn't quite what you want? I would suggest you take a look at the Falketind 62. This ski is 62 mm at the waist, and weighs...

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Fischer Excursion 88

Nice review Gareth, I have thought for a while that the 88 probably hit the sweet spot on this series of skis from Fischer. However I will not be buying one anytime soon. Between a USGI, Gamme, and Falketind I should be able to get by. I believe, that my 200 cm USGI has got to be faster than a scale...

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 versus Rabb 68

Johnny, great job on the comparison between the two skis. The Rabb 68 sounds like a heck of a ski. I was wondering if the Rabb was stiffer than the Falketind? If I was to guess, I wouldn't think the difference would be significant as the Tindan isn't really significantly stiffer. While I encourage a...

Re: Asnes Tindan 86 Ski Review

Johnny, I told Nitram the long story, but no I have not been on the Tindan. I mounted them at balance point. Quite a way back from Asnes' recommendation. I look forward to skiing these and my Gamme. My backcountry skiing was only on my USGI this season. I put 3x the gouges in them then I did the las...

Re: Not a telemark movie, but an inspiring skiing movie none-the-less

Things change as you get older. When I was younger I wanted to ski Chanonix. Now I look at the glades of Japan and think how wonderful that would be. Right now what I really hope for, after a couple of not so hot winters, is two feet at home, with single digit (F) temps for two weeks to keep it pres...

Re: Asnes Tindan 86 Ski Review

I have been resort skiing with my son on my Falketind 62 exclusively. Sometimes I am a little stubborn, and skiing groomed blues and blacks should be pretty easy stuff. However I now realize while the Falketind 62 is a really fun ski to ski on groomed snow. If that snow is has a bottom that is boile...

Re: New rant... Backcountry/wide skis and telemarkers

I gave away my last pair of K2's to some guy from Craiglist about 5 years ago - the last ones to go were some 207cm K2 Extremes from the early 90's - they were my faves for a few years of Maine/Vermont skiing. I think they had slalom sidecut with GS flex - or was it the other way around? I had K2 T...

What he said!!! Well, except I preferred the detuned models, K2 Extremes, and Atomic PCM skis. I liked skis stiff, but not racing stiff. I also preferred my terrain steeper, snow softer, and wanted to turn where I wanted to turn.

Re: Deer Valley, Utah

Martin, Solitude is a great area. Back when I skied Utah it was Alta that had more slower lifts. Funny thing was those slower lifts serviced some pretty cool terrain. If you liked Solitude, you will like Snowbird and Alta. However as much as I think those particular areas have superior terrain and s...
