Re: Mystery of the Single Camber Wax Pocket Explained

I place both hands on the tip. I hold the ski about 20 degrees away from me. I put my boot up against the tail. I press down firmly to flex the ski. It isn't easy with my old Vokll. The flex on my alpine skis are pretty even. I cannot get the Sbound to flex using this method. What flexing these skis...

Re: Paging Phoenix with an Objective question

Paul I have two versions of the Karhu xcd gt in no wax and I also have the waxable ones. When I compare either of the waxless xcds to the waxable ones I can feel the drag and it bothers me, and it takes away from my skiing pleasure. I also have the vector in the waxable and smooth based version. Th...

Re: If you could only have one ski for your most typical skiing...

If I could have only one ski it would be the Vector bc. Reason being that it is the most versatile ski I have. There is nowhere that I have ever skied that I wouldn't feel comfortable on it. From the most technical downhills to a lap around the lake it will work. From Ak. to Pa. it would be my choi...

Re: Finally!

Hey Conny, I took my son to Marquette over Christmas break. The conditions were pretty poor at Marquette Mt., but the terrain was an eye opener for him as he has only skied in the Mitten. I am still planning on coming up to Midwest Tele Fest in February. I have never been to the Porkies, and I have ...

Finally!

I may finally have some natural snow. Cold and wet since October, first couple inches in early November, but every time we get precipitation it has been a warming event and has come as rain. IMG_1292.PNG If I get 8" I might try to get the Gamme out on the trails. The cobble can be large, but I ...

Re: Crispi Pro Comp Telemark Boot

They appear to be in excellent condition, easily worth the asking price. For me touring for turns, the Ski March is plenty. Johnny can out do me on Alaska boots and NNN. If the Super Comp gives you the the support you need to Ski your best go for it. It's about sliding on snow and having fun.

Re: Crispi Pro Comp Telemark Boot

Just curious, is the sole flex much stiffer than the Ski March? They are pretty cool. When I bought my first Telemark boots, one of my three options was a Merrill Super Comp. I chose the absolute worst option of the three. The Vibram sole will torque at some point. The leather flex will be sweet. I ...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 Ski Review

Verski, Lower camber and sidecut aren't ever going to be great on hardpack, as you are experiencing. It's good that your Eon fills this void. I use my USGI Combat ski for hardpack and not completely filled in trails. The thing about glide wax, is that grip wax does not adhere to it well. My great sn...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 Ski Review

But some things I noticed while handling the skis: -They have a very low camber, much lower than both my Atomic Beta TM24 or Madshus Eon. However, the camber is very progressive, so that it is about as soft as the Atomic and Madshus at the beginning, but in the end it is harder to push the bases tog...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Nick BC, I really like my Ski March boots. The range of movement is so far beyond what I have in my T-4, it is like comparing the T-4 to an alpine boot. The Ski March is very powerful, so powerful I was surprised when skiing in crud I felt the sole torqueing. All those things are great, a powerful b...
