Re: NNN/NNNBC mounting pattern/ Nordic touring setup for young children

Gareth, Forgive me if I am missing something. My initial thought is to make a paper template of each binding type for comparison. That being said, I will plug any holes with hardwood dowels and waterproof Titebond glue. It sounds like you know what will work best for skiing. I would risk scrapping a...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

If "marked chamber" means that after a day of skiing downhill on soft snow, with some kick and glide traverses. Riding a lift up, skiing a bit on hardpack resort snow, to the "non-maintained" area of soft snow, soft snow traverse, repeat. At the end of the day still have enough k...

Re: updated Fischer site

I could probably use a 78 in 199. It could be helpful with all the refrozen snow we have around here.

Johnny, you will be more excited after you ski the Rabb 68, then you are thinking about it.

Re: The Åsnes Thread (News for 2018-2019!)

The Storetind is both a better XC touring ski and a MUCH better downhill ski than any of the conventional "hybrid" skis (e.g. Epoch/S-98/Annum/S-112). Hummm.... Not sure what makes the ST a better DH ski than the S98/10MTN? The overall flex and the tips? Actually, the resistance underfoot...

Re: The Åsnes Thread

Woods, the FT 62 is a fun ski. I have a very good feel for what the FT 68 must be, from both my experience on the 62 and Gareth's reviews. DON'T ORDER THE 62 short, there is no need unless you are in very tight trees. I agree that the 62 may be better paired with NNN bindings, do not doubt that thi...

Re: The Åsnes Thread

I am also curious about the two Tind skis. I am too- what is the difference in performance between the 68/76/86? Obviously the 86 would offer more float than the 68- but if you want a powder ski, why wouldn't you go even wider? PLUS- I am sure all of these skis have different camber/rocker profiles...

Re: Up north again- Trondelag Norway, lil bit of bordering Jamtland, Sweden

Randoskier, it is absolutely an enchanting place. To go once would be to have it beckon strongly. Bad snow makes for tiring skiing. Hopefully you were able to make adjustments to your route. With good snow I would like to adjust my route up that mountain in the background. I imagine even a guy from ...

Re: My dreams of Switzerland after so many years

Woods, I am happy that you were able to return to such a magnificent place. I can imagine how such a place would beckon to you. The photos and videos were a pleasure to see, thank you for sharing. Johnny Lighting made a great co-star, I look forward to more adventures with Chuck Flannel.
