Re: best ski for snowmachine trails, mixed classic/skate

John_XCD i was thinking about a shorter Gamme, but I think you are probably spot on with the Amundsen. Why don’t you post your height and weight? Hopefully lilcliffy will respond. He has experience with the Amundsen, he has a family of Nordic skiers and may have experience with a shorter Amundsen a...

Re: best ski for snowmachine trails, mixed classic/skate

I have a Gamme in 210, and an Asnes MT 51 in 210 which I use for thin cover. The only thing the Gamme doesn’t do far better is fit in tracks Don’t discount what full steel edges will do for tracking on a snowmobile track. I would also surmise a steel edged Gamme turns better than a ski without edges...

Re: any tips on 3 pins mounted to alpine ski?

I would mount boot center, to the boot center mark on the ski. To measure where boot center on the boot, I measure from the boot heel to the pin line in mm and divide by 2. I then mark pin line that distance from the boot center mark. Be sure to measure from the tail of the ski to the boot center ma...

Re: $300-a-day lift ticket?

I know I am late to the party. In my part of Michigan there are 3 types of Nordic skis available, XC Race skis, skate skis, and recreational XC skis that are junk. We have decent winters some years, and other years it can be lean. Nordic skiing is somewhat limited by weather here, but the the junk e...

Re: What to think of Alpina crew?

That is the first sole delamination of an Alaska BC, that I can recall of being posted here. Not that it makes your experience any less disappointing. I have a lot of miles on my Alaska BC and more than a few years. I expect many more miles and years. Which is why it will be years before I see mysel...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

My skiing season ended April 7, skiing the melting man made at Boyne Mt. I think the lift ticket was only $20!
No place in Michigan is above 2000 feet. We don’t have elevation extended winter.

Rod, it’s nice when your woman is a skier, but when she carries the pack, that is living the life!

Looks very nice!

Re: NOS Rossignol 7S

I remember the green ones, they were popular. 183 cm seems short, back then real men skied 204’s. However, you would probably want to go to a shorter softer flexing skis for Tele, maybe 190 cm. If you are a lighter guy, 183 cm may be okay. If you have them already, you have nothing to loose. If they...

Very nice! I wouldn’t mind finding another new old stock F-1. Those F-3 should be sweet!
