Re: Canadian Rockies trip! But... Which skis to bring?

Rongon, awesome report and I am glad things worked out for you. I see you take as many photos as I do when I ski. I tell people the video plays in my mind over and over. Your writing tells me you have a really cool video playing over in your mind. Maybe your friends snapped a photo or two you might ...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Merak, I wouldn't have three vacation days left over if I had terrain like that. Looks like you could spend a lot of time exploring in those mountains. Great photos, always nice when you post photos.

Re: Hard wires or NTN? And what ski?

Hello Karen, Could I offer the suggestion that if you buy another set of skis you now have a quiver of two. I know for the most part people that switch to NTN seem to like it, however I have heard some people tried NTN and came back to NNN (3-pin) gear. Although I have no desire to go to NTN, from w...

Re: Challenging spring snow/base structuring at home

Hey Woods, Wish I had your problems, I tried skiing on 2" this past Saturday. I stopped dead too many times and had to give up. I have one of these structure tools, and it will add structure to a base. image.jpg image.jpg Like I said, it works and does a decent job, but I have become much less ...

OH! And BTW- I keep think of this and then forgetting to post it... Fisheater: Have you looked at Alpina's BC Nordic lineup? They should be suitable and they are often super cheap on sale... http://shop.alpinasportsus.com/en/category.php?product_category_id=8817 https://www.backcountry.com/nordic-b...

Woody, do you have a s-98, also? If you do, I was curious as to where that ski fits in?

Re: 78 Traverse / 88 Excursion which one? Or another?

Fisheater, I'm looking for the same type ski. I was thinking something like an S 98. I'll sacrifice touring efficiency for better turning of an alpine camber. It's not the narrowness of the ski that makes it hard to turn but stiff camber IME. Al, I really like my S-112, but it is very possible the ...

78 Traverse / 88 Excursion which one? Or another?

The type of ski I want the most a Vector/ V-6 / Supercharger is not really the ski I need. What I need is a skinny waxless XC ski that will turn. Two things to consider is that I consider my USGI Combat at 78-67-73 a skinny ski. It will take me time to go much skinnier. I learned to ski on straight ...

Re: Voile Charger

Hey Mainer, How do the Chargers tour compared to the V-6? They seem big, but that used set resurfaced. I do not need a ski like this most of the time, I really don't need a V-6 or Vector either. However, it would be nice to have a deep pow touring ski to tour for turns . Besides I don't mind hearing...
