Re: Boot recommendations for TTS-setup (Moonlight Pure tele)

I skied F-1 Race at the resort this year, and most likely will next year as well. My concern about using the F-1 at the resort is more about breaking down the F-1 rather than being able to make the turns. In fairness, all my gear is more backcountry oriented. I didn’t have any trouble handling mank ...

Re: Boot recommendations for TTS-setup (Moonlight Pure tele)

The F-3 is lighter and has more ROM than the current TX P, so for backcountry touring for me that would take the current TX P off the table. I have an F1-Race that I am skiing with Voile Transit. That is a nice touring combination. There earliest reports on the new TX P, comment on the flex requirin...

Re: How Do You Ski Downhill?

"My leading foot is already down hill and when I try to bend my knee that leg basically just stays straight and the knee connected to my uphill foot bends." This catches my attention. I find dropping a knee without turning helps a lot. The first thing I do after putting my skis on is drop a knee st...

Re: How Do You Ski Downhill?

. I was on a brand new pair of skis, that I quite like, but it was very icy and I had trouble holding the tele stance for long enough to make a turn. What??? Brand new pair of skis, but I’m not saying what skis! Wow! That is just unethical! How is any ski purchasing addiction going to be fed by not...

Summitcone Pariah 97

I decided to buy a season pass, and start riding a chair regularly again for the 1rst time in twenty years. I needed a piste ski, I decided on the Pariah 97. It seemed like it might be wide to me, as my widest ski was 86 mm UF. The ski is relatively light, but it is a birch/aspen core with a rubber ...

Re: Summit Cone 106 review

For those that don’t know, there are two Summitcone 106 skis. There is the Outcast, which has a carbon/paulowania core, and the Exile which has a birch/aspen core with rubber foil dampener layer.
I’m pretty sure they are made in the same molds.

Re: Sbounds...leathers

Maple syrup, and turns, that’s living the life! I drove a couple hours north to pour the floor on my friend’s pole barn addition, it was only one truck, not to much for an old concrete guy that mostly has been supervising for the past twenty years. Sunday I skied at Boyne. It’s a very upscale resort...

Re: How Do You Ski Downhill?

@Stephen The last paragraph is excellent advice. I think it’s the essence of getting better. Practice making the right motions, to develop muscle memory. Take it steeper to find where your technique is challenged.

Stephen I’m not in the least surprised you caught me on that! ;) At Musk Ox, thank you that’s very kind. Certainly the Fjords offer great views, and some tasty morsels swimming around? Those are coho salmon, Rod. They will be 8-10 lbs by fall. They are stocked in the Great Lakes.
