Re: North Country Scenic Trail

Fishy....let's do it!!! Let's be the "first" to make it happen. I think you mentioned that trailhead before and I have friends who hiked that section but I've been a little a-scared of it. There's little room for error as you know. But I would totally do it if I had another person who was...

Re: SNOW!!!! whatcha got? (Redux w/ pic)

Jack, beautiful shot, happy to hear you finally have snow. Hope you get out and enjoy it. I'm sure we would all enjoy seeing some S S S photos, although I'm not one to talk. All my photos are in my head where I am the only one who can see them. I don't know how old I need to be before I will start t...

Re: the magic and power of grip wax

Lilcliffy had discussed kick wax on a ski review thread I had started. Before I get on track with the wax discussion, I will answer a ski question he asked. Yes,the FT 62 does have a track groove. On to the wax discussion. I have not tried hot waxing kick wax as of yet. I am assuming you would still...

Re: New Telemarker

I've been skiing with my son since he was very young. We started the kids on "snow party" skis when they were 2 or 3 years old and went from there. That boy turned 18 this week and graduates from HS in a few months. I'm losing my ski buddy, but we are making sure we squeeze the best of th...

Re: North Country Scenic Trail

Nice report and trip T-$. I want to tour a section of the North Country Trail south of you. I have biked the trail before, and need to bike it again to better access the skiabilty. It had great long down hills, that should be safe on skis, but for much of the trail it was just a single track carved ...

Re: A vid for you twisted minimalist typos

Thank's guys I enjoyed both. Kind of a French, Nordic version of the Warren Miller formula that was always entertaining to watch, even when you knew what was going to happen next.

Re: Hot waxing scales... pro tips!

[ I’ve had success with my Koms following this guy’s method. Brush out (side to side and lengthwise) with a TOKO/swix brass brush. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9mF5s6_dTlk The paper towel technique isn't working for me, I'm filling the scales pretty good. How do you keep the brash brush from gummi...

Re: New Telemarker

So happy! My oldest son, 22, came out here for a short visit and was willing to give tele a try. His younger brother has been doing it for as long as I have, i.e. 4 years, but Cam hasn't done much skiing, a little alpine, a little xc when he was in his mid-teens. He decided to come out of his comfo...

Re: Michigan Dune Schooning Jan 2018 Check In

Have any of you MI guys skiied the dune climb in Sleeping Bear? I have read the National Lakeshore website site. It said skiers are to remain on trails, it also mentioned something about damaging delicate dune vegetation. I wouldn't want problems with NPS enforcement, I find the National Park exper...
