Ski Packs...

I'm looking around for a new day ski, ski pack around 40 sized. Not looking for an Avy pack. I'm having a hard time finding one with that range that has good side ski and crampon/ice axe straps. It will also be used for cragging. Any suggestions?

Snow or none?

So what is the consensus? Are we in for an El Nino or La Nina?

New: Meidjo 2.1 bindings.

Looks like M-Equipment got the message. I see that they have come out with a Meidjo 2.1 that quietly addresses the serious binding mount strength/binding to second heel strength issues. It is not a whole redesign though, and looks like he is trying to come up with a low production cost fix. Still th...

Re: 22 Designs Vice/AXLE limitations.

What's nice about strong initial engagement, among other things, is more fore-aft stability since your heel isn't so ready to lift all the time. Like Harris, I notice a difference with NTN in the little adjustments of edge you can make when you have initial neutral heel lift, and I have less of tha...

Re: Quiver Killers or 2nd Ski Kit?

Like the other posters I've put in a fair amount of QKs on several skis at home, and have never had an issue. With the kits they supply the drill, tap and tool to install them. Some advice on drilling: 1st off, A RULE with these, get ready to take your time. Hint: Drink your celebratory beers afterw...

Re: How was your season?

I realize everything is subjective but all the skiers I know rated this past season as the best.season.ever and the spring season looks like it will last a long time more so I found your take baffling.[/quote] Alpental started out great, and we had some great storms, no question there, but then each...

Re: How was your season?

I feel for you brother. We had a great start to the season. I dare say Colorado type conditions, sun, cold temps and good snow, a rare thing in the PNW, and then we got some stellar lite dumpage, also a rare PNW thing (usually it comes in deep but watery), but then it seemed after every dump it rain...

Re: Tele vs parallel.

Well I appreciate everyone's input, even when I'm argumentative and opinionated concerning. It is just, well, I love this thing we do. I always have fun talking skiing. I have even more fun actually doing it. And then also talking about it. And then doing it again. And then drinking a beer. One thin...
