Re: "upgrade" to pins?

One issue I had with the Spike 3 pin was the fact that I couldn't get my last generation T3 far enough into the toe piece to connect with the toe pins and snap it shut. After a session with the drill and sanding the sides of the duckbill I got it to work. Great binding, mine is going on a new pair o...

G3 Stinger XCD review coming

Well the deal was too good to pass up so I bought a pair of 172's from the G3 website for C$300. I've had my eyes on these skis for a while, but there are absolutely no reviews I can find on the web. I know the original smooth base Stinger was highly rated by testers in its preseason, based upon com...

Re: 22designs Lynx TTS/NTN

It's hard to assess releasibility from the illustration, where the duckbutt clamp looks pretty basic. With the tech toe you need a release function in the duckbutt such as Meidjo has. IME the Meidjo release works extremely well. However, if the Lynx has comparable releasibility to Meidjo I would be ...

Re: Do we really need all that sidecut for powder skiing?

I agree. For powder and most back country snow my Vector BC's perform flawlessly. 94 at the waist, 118? at the tip.

Re: Vector replacement- ideas? V6/UltraVector something else?

I know you've sold the Vectors so it's academic, but I think part of the problem you had was with the boot. When I first bought my Vector BC's in a 170 (I was around 145 lbs at the time) I skied them with the last generation T3, which is a forerunner of the T4. When I skied hardback as an experiment...

Re: TTS - tele tech - pin tele

No releases so far. I have wondered, since putting the Hardwire back ends on, if I should have gone with the Switchback X2 instead, as the spring is apparently 25% stiffer and might make them a bit less neutral. Although I bought them primarily for touring the first time I used them was at the lifts...

Re: TTS - tele tech - pin tele

I have the B&D Plate with Dynafit Radical toe pieces and a Voile Hardwire back end. It works flawlessly and is quite neutral as the pivot is only 38 mm behind the pins. I went with this to overcome the annoying snow build up problem with Rotte Freedoms and Meidjo in PNW Spring snow. So far so go...

Re: which ski climbs best

I would agree with Al. I have both skis and I find the BC110 is less grippy than the Vector BC. If you want to make life easy for yourself I would say go with a Vector. The uphills will be easier and the downhills more fun.
