Re: 2019 ALFA Guard Advance GTX M Boots Review

Anybody know if the Skarvets run same as the Guards? if so, then one could order Skarvets from REI for fit, then return them and order same size Guards from overseas.

Re: Uh-oh... pinholes ripped on my Alaskas

Smile pates work when you have enlarged holes /chewed up rubber around the holes. But if you have a tear across through all three holes, I doubt they are going to help. Your description sounds lke that might be what you have?

Alfa vs. Alpina sizing

Can anyone comment on Alpina vs Alfa sizing? I have no way of trying either on without ordering them, and in looking at various boots I noticed that on the REI site they have size charts to convert from EU to Us shoe sizes, and for the Alfas the chart says a 45EU is a 12.5 US mens, while for the Alp...

Re: Singletrack and Snowmobile Trail Skills

Snowmobile tracks are just a bear to ski downhill on unless it is the perfect gentle gradient that lets you just glide along without needing to control your speed, inwhich case it's heaven. When its a bit steeper and some braking is needed i have found that the only thing that worked for me was a na...

Re: Cobbled down my Garmont Excursions

Checked my numbers: my Excursions (29.5) started out at 2316 gms for the pair of shells. The lightest they got with cuffs still on and, with tongues, was 2210. with liners, that would be 2565 gms (stock thermo liners, trimmed here and there) PEr Skintrack, the F1 Race is 2240 for a pair, with liners...

Re: Cobbled down my Garmont Excursions

Andy - All posted weights I have seen tell me that F1's, F1 races, and F1 Carbons are all lighter than excursions. I have never held a pair, so I have only hearsay regarding stiffness. I have heard there is a significant difference in flex from F1 to F1 race. And yes I have heard that Scarp does 29....
