Re: skis for making miles

Boy, everybody makes those agammes sound great but i want a waxless ski. All my skiing is spring skiing and waxless works great in the conditions I encounter. I skied across the Sierra and only had my skins out a few times. So maybe some fischers will do the deed. I am tempted to go even skinnier th...

Re: skis for making miles

Ingstad at 84/62/74 might be too close to my current skis (Atomic Rainier, 88/60/78) to be worth it - although that is less sidecut. Just looked up the Gamme - 68/54/61. And the current E99 - 66/54/61. Pretty similar shape on those two. Has anybody skied both and can compare, particularly in firm sn...

Re: skis for making miles

Well - a pretty wide range of opinion there, like almost 30mm wide! I tend to agree about some width underfoot, but I`ve never had a ski as wide as the Objectives. I was thinking along the lines of 50 to 60 underfoot and not too much sidecut, since straighter seems to track straighter. Does add weig...

skis for making miles

At some point in the future I am thinking of doing some multi-day trips that will be much less mountainous that what I usually do, and I'm thinking that I will want different skis for that sort of thing, Mellow terrain, mostly snow-covered roads and the like, carrying a pack, in spring snow type con...

Re: Voile Objective BC Skis and Super Lite Skins

If you want fail-safe binding repair that will hold unless the ski breaks in half: machine screws and t-nuts. Ski will be trashed but the binding is not coming off unless the ski breaks!
