Re: Franken binding idea
Also - curious about your boot mods, and would love to see photos and hear about fabric and adhesives you are using to create your bellows.

Re: Franken binding idea
So just to clarify, it sounds like what you are after is in essence a binding that behaves like an NNN-BC with its toe bumper for K&G action, and also has the possibility of full free pivot? So you want tech pins, but can't have the normally positioned locking lever since that is where the bumper ne...

Re: Can we have a better XCD boot midsole?
Bcgregoire - i sold a boatload of those Asolo Superscouts, and i had a pair of the Voyageur pictured down below. A blast from the past for sure! Re: boot rocker?
This could conceivably be an artifact of the process that Alpina uses to put the rubber rand on there, or a result of the behavior of that material over time. Consider the other photos posted of cracking in the rand material after significant use, which suggests tension forces in it. Given that teh ...

Re: Can we have a better XCD boot midsole?
I don't think is is really that complicated in terms of finding a material. Back in the 80's when I worked in mountain shops, I sold a lot of Asolo hiking boots and ski boots. They had developed a nylon midsole, graduated thickness and flex for each boot size, with a short steel shank riveted to it ...
