Re: It's paradise I tell you

Another day in paradise yesterday, I skinned up 900' and then did 4 laps of about 300' each. It was T shirt weather, the snow wasn't quite corn but skied like it. It was great skiing all over with a supportable but soft base with a soft surface on all aspects at all elevations.

Re: wax vs scales vs XSkin vs klister

Pretty sure there are at least three skiers on this site with the waxless Ingstad BC- Woods and Johnny included. There are only 4 pairs of the new Asnes WL skis in America. But this is about to change... The WL line should invade the US market next season... Stay tuned... 8-) I have about 50 days o...

Re: It's paradise I tell you

I had my a day in paradise yesterday. Sunday my wife and I went to Hatcher Pass after giving our local trails a try and finding them too hard to ski. They had received some fresh snow and temps had stayed cold up there. The snow felt great but visability was very poor with flat light. We climbed a f...

Re: It's paradise I tell you

Paradise is a great place to be Baaahb, I've experienced it often on my low angle tours. It surprises me that touring like that isn't more popular. It is most of what I have been doing the last few years.

Re: Voile Objective BC Skis and Super Lite Skins

I have never worked with paulownia wood... The wood fiber must not be as strong as aspen? Don't know but I am thinking this must have something to do with the binding retention of paulownia vs. aspen? That's what they're saying, but the paulonia is still a good wood for skis. I don't think it was a...

Re: Deer Valley, Utah

I think there may have been some telemarkers out if it was a powder day, but then again we're dyin out almost as fast as WWII vets. ;)

How much time do you spend south of the border in winter? I really envy that.
