Re: Vector BC vs V6 BC ??

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was hoping to find. Seems the V6 has a bit more sidecut, is a bit heavier and stiffer too. Maybe the tip rocker's different, nobody seems to know. I might call up the Voile shop and see if they can tell me. Dostie over at EarnYourTurns.com mentioned that he preferre...

Re: Voile hardwire and switchback binding comparison

I do not think you would find much difference between a 3 pin HW and original SB... Same cartridge, similar pivot location. Maybe the bail that maintain the duckbill tight in HW makes it more secure, solid... it could help edging. If you want more heel retention, you need the SB X2 with stiffer car...

Re: Skinny ski for hardpack

I used to have a pair of Atomic Diran, same thing as TM22. I wouldn't use them with floppy leather boots, but if you have mad ski skills, then by all means. However, I did use them with low 2-buckle touring boots and 3-pin bindings. They ski very well that way. They also work pretty well with kick w...

Binding position on Fischer Watea 98 BC TT?

I got a pair of Fischer Watea 98 BC TT (I'm told same as Big Stix 98) in 176 cm length. They're a twin tip, with early rise tips. My previous skis have all been standard cambered skis. I put Switchback X2's on them, so that the center line of boot is 1.5 cm back of the center line on the ski. I took...
