Re: OMG TTS Question

Some are saying that the OMG toe piece isn't the best, in terms of fiddling with the pins... The center is a little higher, making it harder to engage and align the pins. Is that so?

Re: Moving binding for better grip

I use this strictly as a track ski, so I'm not too worried about turning or anything. I meant, it may change your diagonal stride a bit (with the back ski). But this is theorical... I changed 3 times my binding mount on my Glittertind; once because I ripped it out of the ski, 2sd because a stupido ...

Re: Moving binding for better grip

Why not waxing a longer area? Moving the binding forward will also have an effect on the on-piste caracteristics (I know that you know). Yeah, you are right, plenty of time to be anal about all those things with the covid... But here there is still pretty good snow. So, skiing I do go...

Re: OMG TTS Question for @Andy

Andy, since you have experience with those TTS, do you also have experience with tech NTN? Or just plain NTN? How do they compare in terms of feel (comparing similar activity)? I know it is a broad question; I also know the mechanical difference between them... I am looking into TTS. And I tried a c...

Re: XC oriented ski for max float on dry snow

A different question is whether I'd be better off with a Hok 125 or 145 for going up and down steep forested slopes. I feel like shorter is going to be better for traction going straight uphill, since the skin is the same length on both models (i.e. proportionately larger on the 125). I'd go with t...

Re: Blizzard Zero G 85 or 95 on Tele?

There used to be a Zero G 78... That one would be even better for my skiing... That big ski trend is sometimes... euh... stoopid?

Re: Blizzard Zero G 85 or 95 on Tele?

The Zero G 85 would make a perfect xcD sort of ski... Not too much sidecut, lightweight, not too much width, not too much rocker; great balance... And the mounting area seems solid enough (I do not know about recent models though). I am thinking myself of putting 3 pin on these... The only concern f...

Re: Excursion shell: what you need to know

Here it is. The first 2 ones are Man shell. One is ratchet type (best and oldest). The other one (the latest one) has different buckles Unknown.jpeg Unknown-2.jpeg The other shell is the WOMAN/JUNIOR shell. Cheaper conception. A tad narrower too. Unknown-1.jpeg The MAN shell goes up from 26 MP. The ...

Excursion shell: what you need to know

There is something people should know about Excursion boots, specially if you wear 25 MP... In order to save money, Garmont skipped on size shell... So they were using the 26—26,5 shell for their 25—25,5 boots. In other words, there is one shell for 25—25,5 & 26—26,5 boots. Results? In the 25 boots,...

Re: Best ski/binding setup for mixed terrain

I'm about 140 lbs and ski the 179 SBound 98. I found way less drag in the scales, in XC mode, than my 190 Glittertinds, which were the Madshus recommendation for my weight. Maybe, Fischer has dialled it in. Man, you need the Waxable ones... they are great... Madshus is the way to go! (Just kidding....
