Re: The narrowest class of XCD Skis

I have a pair of Atomic Mountain BC's which are full metal edge 59-50-55. I just love them in tracks and over a firm base. But you have to scour ebay to find them. This is where I got turned onto them, and it took a year to find them, mostly by luck... http://wintertrekking.com/back-country-skiing/s...

Re: Dave's Nordic Backcountry ski page - RIP???

I appreciate your offer immensely. I've been trying to find a friend or two willing to drop off the face of the earth for a week and drive the 16hrs to the ChicChocs for years now.

You will be the first to know when I find somebody!!

Re: Dave's Nordic Backcountry ski page - RIP???

Well, nice to know the content is alive... I admit, I had not noticed that other conversation, the title is, dare I say, a little unclear? You dared to say it, and I respect that  I authored the unclear title, and your comment made me chuckle this morning. On a serious note, I'm glad others fi...

Re: Pinnah, I need a "tattered copy" of your website

Mike, here is Dave's response over on TelemarkEast FYI. You mentioned the possibility of hosting the content. I honestly don't know what to do next, I'm not a website/forum techie :( Hey folks, Comcast <spit> has dropped support for personal web pages. So I'm considering trying to find an affordable...

Re: Pinnah, I need a "tattered copy" of your website

Not the original site, and does not excuse Dave's absence, but the material has been kept viewable here: http://web.archive.org/web/20151002150930/http://home.comcast.net/~pinnah/DirtbagPinner/dirtbag.html Thanks man! This archive worked for me. I'm in the process of printing the site for personal ...

Re: Pinnah, I need a "tattered copy" of your website

Encouraging words from our friend...

Hi Paul,

Yah, Comcast pulled their support of personal web space. It's on my to do list to put it back up but I'm not sure what to do yet.

Sorry.

Re: Pinnah, I need a "tattered copy" of your website

I don't think Dave checks this site actually, or he might have chimed in here or there. I think he has an account on Tele East, but I don't recall what the s/n is (I'm sure you could find it).... might just be pinnah? Anyway, I'd try to pm him there. Good luck! Too bad we couldn't keep his material...

Pinnah, I need a "tattered copy" of your website

There's something missing this season, it's Pinnah's website. Maybe it's been gone for awhile, but who checks it outside ski season? The way the site clarified ALL of "rugged nordic backcountry" from "traditional touring" XC skis up thru "cirque class teles" up to "wide, shaped" skis. Pinnah's site ...

Re: How did you start Telemark?

Even though I don't and probably never will identify myself as a 'telemark skier', getting more involved in this aspect of skiing has changed my perspectives radically. If you want to put labels on stuff - I'll always go for 'backcountry nordic' as mine. But just skier suffices. Soooo... what flipp...
