Re: Garmont Cruiser Leather Boots

I emailed the Sanscario sports guy last year to ask if he had my size - he said no. I think he only has a couple of sizes of those 2-buckle boots left. Another good option for a heavier leather boots is the Alico surplus boots I posted in the Boots & such thread. More sizes of those are availabl...

Re: Of boots and such...

the Tele Tours ankle's are a bit lower for betting striding, the Zenith are much higher & stiffer in the back. the Antarctic is very good at stretching, some boots don't stretch as much but you can usually get more width out of any of them. hopefully you can shim or add a thick footbed to your T...

Re: Vintage Merrell NNN BC Leathers

I'm sorry I was only a kid in the 70's…..apparently there was a big cultural tie-in between backcountry skiing and hippie bikers in the those days. Many of the ski clubs in North Conway were started by bikers in the 70's. The town responded by banning them from having parties and otherwise harrassin...

Re: Of boots and such...

Canna. What is wrong with your Zenith? I was hoping that you would eventually review them! They appear to be much like my Karhu Descents and Alico Teletours. Great mid-stiff all-around backcountry tele/tour boots!? I ordered two sizes to cover my ass! That's why the 46 are for sale. They wouldn't t...

Re: Of boots and such...

I have a pair of those, Asolo branded. Size 10, $50. Asolos and Merrells are different bests. The Merrel, for instance, has a wider last while its tongue seems softer than the Asolo snowpines and such. I'm on the lookout for Merrels sz 8-9 or 42-43! there are VERY nice Garmont Tour leathers on ebay...

Re: Asnes Super Telemark TM3

cool looking skis! So they're real skinnies, simlar to the current Amundsen. I would forego the cable and put Rottefella Super Telemark bindings on there. that would keep it lightweight. They may be really stiff and not suited so well to up-down turning missions. If they're flat-camber I guess they'...

Re: Fitting tele boots vs. alpine

all I can say is good luck! There's no answer to these problems. I skied the 47's for a winter and thought I might fit into 46's, I tried 46's and they were too small. So it goes! You could try a thicker insole on the small foot but that would put one leg slightly higher, not good for your hips &...
