What length BC55, E99 or similar?

Looking to get a pair of Fischer E99s, Madshus BC55s, or maybe the similar model from Asnes for my wife. She already has Madshus Eons and some speedy skis for groomed tracks, but I’ve convinced her she needs a BC ski with more camber and better tracking for flat and rolling terrain. I followed Steve...

Re: Advice on a BC touring setup?

Good find on those old Europa 99s. I’ve never skied them but know they are well liked for efficient touring. If memory serves, people say they have a stiff camber, but since yours are pretty old, that may be softened up. I was going to recommend Glittertinds (now BC 55) which is what I use most of t...

Re: The Finest Nordic Norm (NN) 75mm Backcountry Boots

Some of these Alfa boots boots look very interesting, as do the Crispi. But when I’m going out for a ski that will involve a lot of up and down (I’m in Colorado so plenty of up and down to be had), I’ve had good luck with my Fischer BCX 875s. they don’t seem to be too popular on this forum but they ...

Re: I’ve lost track...what I should I get for XCD these days?

Hey snow-mark, Are you looking for something more or different in a ski with similar dimensions to the Epoch? Fischer's S-Bound 98 has almost the exact same width/sidecut but has a stiffer flex- as well some Nordic rocker in the tip. Which one is better- seems to depend both on the skier and the sn...

Re: I’ve lost track...what I should I get for XCD these days?

You are one of those few with a local Asnes dealer nearby. I will not be the only one hear to suggest you should take advantage of your lofty position and splurge! As long as you choose the ski that fits your needs, you will be hard pressed to get a better built state of the art XCD ski. Check out ...

I’ve lost track...what I should I get for XCD these days?

Hi all. Been a while since I’ve posted much here, but I’m aiming to spend more time skiing this winter than I have the last couple years. I have three pairs currently: 1. Madshus Epochs from 2010 (not sure if they’ve changed), with 3-pin cable bindings. I tend to ski these with Fischer BCX 875s. 2. ...

Re: Ski touring food

I use any of the popular brands. Alpine aire has worked for us lately. For hiking though. For ski tours I stay in huts and bring regular food.
