Japanese Music - Wagakki band

These guys are pretty cool. It's a slow, traditional Japanese drum beginning. The rst of the band walks on at 2:20 or so and then a young woman does a smokin' hot shamisen solo that is awesome!

Re: New rant... Backcountry/wide skis and telemarkers

There were two seasons (when I had 2 kids in grad school) where I had a single pair of skis. They were Armada JJ's back around 2011/2012 with Axl's (I think) and T2 Eco boots. I'm 5'8" tall and about 155#s and the JJ's were 115 underfoot and 185 in length. I think in the second year I put NTN's/Tx b...

Re: Advice on Lift service set up

Are Merrell Fuzions more boot than what you're using for backcountry? It's very difficult to make recommendations just because people's preferences are so varied. If conditions are good, could you just go to the ski area and try your current set up? If nothing else, maybe that would set a minimum fo...

The first video is operations on the deck of the USS Enterprise (may she rest in peace!) during F-14 flight ops getting ready to launch.

Re: The new Meidjo 3 from M Equipment

I love the idea of the easy step-in/out, but its one thing to align the pins with the toe holes on a workbench, its entirely different in real life. can someone with experience with this side-pin setup comment? seems like it would be frustrating Let's just say that with any low tech toe, practicing...

Re: Rottefella NTN stiffness question

I only had these for one season, but yes, you can turn the knobs to adjust both activity (slightly) and release pressure. They used to sell red tubes that were stiffer, but now it looks like the Scarpa site only has green (soft) and blue (which are medium). I do find the reds on Freeheellife's site,...

Naval aviation home movies

The first video is operations on the deck of the USS Enterprise (may she rest in peace!) during F-14 flight ops getting ready to launch. The video quality is a bit degraded. The multiple radar emitters on the ship interfered with my old style VHS tape video camera. 1. Initially, the ship is in a tur...
