Re: 2016-17 Madshus Skis

And the Voss is now re-badged as the BC-50. Boring. I like the idea of adding an Annum and just missed out on the old Karhu model with NNN-BC mags at my local ski swap the on weekend. Dang. I did, however, mange to find a mint pair of Asnes Rago (predecessor to the Amundsen) with NNN-BC for a song, ...

Re: Fischer E-109 vs. Asnes Ingstad

Your comparisons will be interesting, for sure.

I have the 60 mm nylon kicker skins for 200 cm Asnes Ingstads, and they are good for big climbs but offer no glide. I want to add a pair of 35 mm mohair kicker skins for less imposing terrain, but tough-to-wax conditions.

They are qui...

Re: Leather and skiless, the hiking thread.

I love hiking and single-track biking, but for getting fit nothing beats trail running. YMMV.

Doesn't get much better. I get to Anchorage or the Kenai regularly and love it there.

Whitehorse, where I live, has some fantastic single track mountain biking (and trail running). Check it out next time you are driving through.

Re: What do you do when you can't ski?

I love running really tight single track trails in the forest or along grassy ridges. Feels so fast and the scenery is always changing. WAY different than road running, which I do if I have to, but I loathe. I don't run up-and-down peaks (but maybe I should give it a go), my thing is running along r...

Re: The narrowest class of XCD Skis

What about cutting the 35 mm skins down to 17-20 mm?

Re: Alpina Alaska NNNBC

Hey Ginger,

My Alaskans are 45 (my normal shoe size) and they are working out great. So, I'm not looking to size up.

Good luck!
