Re: Asnes Nansen Review
I'd do a lot of tele straight running in the single track context you are talking about when descending. This is one of the best things to do to really get the feel of your stance on the skis. I always found it hard to initiate a turn once I was tele straight running with speed, so I wouldn't sugge...

Bought mine last winter - not sure when the new one was. Maybe this is where they talk about the strap? Despite my powerful adds drawn pages completely against each other above the ankle, so that the lacing loses power, and it is a little far jumps without constriction between the grate and the top ...

Asnes Nansen Review
I'm lucky enough to live almost across the street from the sole US distributor of Asnes skies and last year, coming from a groomed trail nordic ski background, I was on the hunt for metal edged waxable touring skis for use in Colorados Front Range. I quickly figured out that the market for such a sk...

FWIW I was really disappointed in the BCX6's. The ankle cuff strap rides up over the boot tongue but under the gaiter and rubs weird. The ankle cuff it self wears away the boot fabric near the hinge. The boot is also super flexible which is fine for kick and glide but not great for edging. The Rossi...

Re: Who's skiing tomorrow?
Plan was originally to head up to Eldora Saturday for a half day of NNN-BC tele practice followed by some regular alpining. However, car came back from the shop and needs a new driver side back wheel bearing. I'm 90% sure I can do it myself and save $150 so that'll be Saturday morning. Hoping to sti...

Re: Madshus Glittertind BOOTS! Initial review - NNN-BC
Thanks for the update man- and excellent quality photo and graphic. Forgive me- I had forgotten your call sign- I didn't relaize that I was communicating with the same Nansener in the "Midwidth thread". I thought that perhaps we had two active Nanseners on the forum! Are you using the Glitt boot on...

Update to the boot review: http://imgur.com/DvpM60D Picture here if it isn't working above: http://imgur.com/DvpM60D On the second day out, I noticed that when my feet got too close together, the ends of the very end of the ankle cuff strap would slap against each other. The glittertind boots use a ...

Re: The Mid-Width BC-XC Ski Myth?
Going to take them up to the local lift served bunny hill and work on teleturns the 28th - I'll write something up then! I'm not quite up to speed on the lingo but I can definitely turn them in narrow tracks without much trouble. All my skiing this time of year is low angle due to my lack of skill, ...

Re: The Mid-Width BC-XC Ski Myth?
Every once in a while I look at a ski like the Asnes Nansen (76-56-66) and wonder... I have both an e89/Voss (Bonna Conquest) and e109/Eon (Asnes Ingstad) class ski, and very much like having the flexibility to chose either depending on where I plan to ski, the conditions, and my mood. They are qui...

Re: NNN/SNS and/or NNN-BC/SNS-BC Boot/Binding Failure Poll
Thanks guys! Definitely evidence for my suspicion that the skepticism about NNN-BC reliability is largely unfounded.
