Re: Twin Cities Binding Mounting?

What binding? Most tele bindings, are pretty easy to use as their own template, otherwise a paper template used with a good marked centerline makes the install pretty damn easy without a jig. If the shop won't do a 'jig-less install, I'd say they're pretty lazy. I know you say you can't, but it real...

Re: 22 Designs first NTN binding - Outlaw

Prophets will work fine with Outlaw or Freerides (so long as you have the correct binding size for the boot) (i.e. small or large). Keep in mind, fit is really important on Prophets, or there's a good chance you'll start crushing/banging toes on lower turns. The Prophet is pretty notoriously bad for...

Re: 22 Designs first NTN binding - Outlaw

The latest iteration of the freeride (black ones) has had very few failures in contrast to the orange versions. I think I'm on year 5 of my blacks w/Crispi Evos with lots of days and lots of in/out (patrol), and they're still going strong. If I was just starting in the NTN world now, I'd look hard a...

Re: Voile Hardwire 3-Pin for touring/resort ?

Lots of folks used 3-pin hard-wires as daily drivers at the resort. They'll hold up well. The only reason they're not used much anymore is that lots of folks have moved onto touring bindings that have a free-pivot in the heavier tele world (i.e. switchback) and also the newer NTN offerings. The only...

Re: correct stance

So that's what he told you, what did his form actually look like when he was skiing? Many of us, and this can include instructors, think we look a certain way, but reality is different. I think in reality, you'll be best off between those two extremes. Too far butt over heel can start to put you in ...

That looks like it was going to be an oh shit moment on the landing.....unless he had a bit of air time in front of him to get the skis back under him.

Re: RavenTele / Ron

When he calms down, he can have valuable information. But lately, I haven't seen much of that. I will say, it's pretty damn disheartening to see new/first time posters start a thread with a question/introduction and watch their thread get completely shit on, especially if it doesn't fall within his ...

Re: Help me tele better.

Cool. Moving those pivots around can be beneficial - if you ski for a bit in 4 or 5, then flip up to 2 or 3, you can work on replicating in 2/3 what the binding was helping you do in 4/5. Another drill you can practice on some easier terrain for back foot weight is trying to lift your front ski off ...

Re: Help me tele better.

If you read my post, I'm not advocating knee to ski or anything crazy low, but running slightly lower and slightly more spread (while keeping in the bounds of maintaining forward pressure) is a good drill for establishing the rear ski weight and feel, because if you don't properly weight the rear in...

Re: Help me tele better.

You're off to a very good start, and linking turns pretty well. First off, as others said, ditch the poles for a while (at least on the mellower terrain) or lay them horizontally on your hands (without gripping them) which helps keep the hands up in position and gives you a focal for keeping your up...
