Re: What is your preferred go-to BC setup?

Quiver of 1 for XCD: Fischer S98s w/ Voile 3pin cables. Cables only in firm/heavy snow. Boots: well-worn Asolo Snowpines for more XC, 2-buckle Crispi CXT for more XCD where I need more ankle support. Backcountry skiing: southern Oregon Cascade volcanoes and lowlands. To avoid undue frustration w/ wi...

Re: Frustrated at 75mm boot options

Have you tried liner socks?
Eases the friction.
Works for me when skiing in leathers. Haven't needed them in my plastic T3's due to the cooked liners and better heel retention.

Re: good kick and glide 75mm binding?

I xcd ski S98's with Voile 3pin cables; well broken-in Asolo Snowpines for easy k&g days, Crispi 2-buckle T3s on steeper ground for more control. I rarely use the cables, though have broken them out for hardpack snow. I don't ski resorts. No need to remove the cable if you intend to use them. If you...

Re: Cargo Box Advice

have you thought about a ski bag?

my bestest advice: one boot at a time, your least dominant foot first. and use two hands for tying the knots.

Re: Two different types of short radius turn

Telehiro obviously has a strong XC background... As his high alpinish stance is the very best way to ski downhill with XC gear... You need to do very fine and subtle movements to XCD with that kind of gear... You can't attack, only embrace... He just kept and applied this style to his telemark skii...
