Re: Karhu 10th Mountain Guide 74-60-64
[quote=fgd135 post_id=42448 time Search the interwebs, there's still plenty of info out there on these skis. Karhu was a popular, good-selling brand and some of their skis were top notch for the time. Others were just doggie and heavy. Their skis from the early and mid 1980s had somewhat fragile fo...

Re: Preferred clothing?
Lots of great advice. Pay attention to Bregoire's posts as he has done a significant amount of long distance touring in very cold temps, and you are way north, right? My fellow Canadians would roll their eyes if I referred to south-eastern Ontario as way north, but I'm definitely north of the US :l...

Re: Karhu 10th Mountain Guide 74-60-64
Here are some photos. According to LilCliffy those could be Tua skis made in Italy with Karhu topsheet. They probably are old-school telemark… I think I will have to use my T4 to drive them. They really are heavy!

Karhu 10th Mountain Guide 74-60-64
Ever heard of this version of the Guide? I just found by chance a pair that was never ever mounted and I could not resist buying them. According to LilCliffy those could be 25-30 years old. They are 210 cm long without camber and no rocker… I think that one ski weighs actually more than a pair of In...

Rebound 185 Cm buying or not?
I have the opportunity to buy a never used pair of Fischer Rebound with Karhu boots and SNS ex binding (never heard of those) for a very small price but not so sure about the length. They are 185 Cm, just my height but I weight around de 210. Now… do I need them? Of course not but it would be great ...

Re: WTB - Smiley plates
Just wanted to say that I just ordered a pair from Berg's Ski Shop in Eugene, Oregon. They don't offer shipping to Canada (don't we have free trade? why shipping so complicated?) if you order online but I could order directly from them through text messaging. Thought I would share that info in case ...

Re: Does Fischer Transnordic 66 + 82 make sense?
Good to know, thanks! Curious if you've ever tried the Gamme in place of the E99? That is one other option I'm considering right now for a skinnier ski, though inventory woes are likely to force my hand. I have not tried the Gamme but you can found TONS of information on the Gamme on the Forum. Nev...
