Re: New Posts All Forums:Forum Nav: Rossignol BC 125: 165 length too short for 5'-11" & 150 pound guy?
It's been a while. Since I last posted, I skied into my yurt one more time with the BC 125s and old Alpina 1550s. The boots are size 42 and a touch snug...and they don't keep my feet dry or terribly warm. For now, my focus is back on transportation, not making turns. I found a pair of lightly used B...

I think that your setup is awesome! And- I am looking forward to hearing reports on it! You are simply taking NNNBC further than I have- which is very cool 8-) You may actually be surprised by what you can do with that ski and a supportive NNNBC boot, in ideal soft snow conditions. In my experience...

Re: New Posts All Forums:Forum Nav: Rossignol BC 125: 165 length too short for 5'-11" & 150 pound guy?
Have you decided between NNNBC versus 75mm-NN? My recent thoughts are to simply stick with what I have (BC 125 skis and Magnum bindings) and replace my Alpina 1550s with something more supportive. Though it may not be the ideal set-up, it is going to be dreamy for me compared to the old alpine Ross...

Good to know. Thanks. My Alpina 1550s are size 42 and just a touch short....so, presumably, a 43 Alaska would be good.

Thanks, MikeK. That video is useful, especially so with me having not experienced a 3 pin set-up. I see now that there's more give/bend in the toe area than I would have guessed. The vid shows the relative stiffness too. I now see what you mean about the Alaska being softer. If the Svartisen didn't ...

The brown version seemed really stiff. https://www.utemagasinet.no/Utstyr/Sko-deg From UTE (translated) of the grey version: Fischer show here that mountain ski boot made of plastic does not mean less support and controllability than leather shoes. This shoe let me telemark skiing down black trail ...

Re: New Posts All Forums:Forum Nav: Rossignol BC 125: 165 length too short for 5'-11" & 150 pound guy?
They might, but they use a different system that was discontinued. It's called SNS-XA which is different than NNN-BC. Salomon never really licensed their sole to any other boot manufacturers and it kind of pigeon-holed them. They've now thrown in the towel and stopped making BC bindings altogether....

I should have known it wouldn't be that easy. Well, how about these Salomons: http://www.backcountry.com/salomon-x-ad ... untry-boot They look to have a design that would hold a cable. Perhaps those boots aren't worthy of consideration though. I don't recall them being mentioned.

Also refer to this: http://wasatchski.com/tts.htm NNN + heel attachment would fundamentally be no different EXCEPT to maintain the rubber flexor for optimal XC striding. It would not be hard at all to implement a heel piece on NNN-BC bindings. The real issue is more along the lines of the way the b...

Re: New Posts All Forums:Forum Nav: Rossignol BC 125: 165 length too short for 5'-11" & 150 pound guy?
Thanks for the info, MikeK. I had a thought last night while laying in bed pondering all this. Silly, perhaps....but, a cable from a 3-pin tele binding used with the NNN BC Magnum binding. I know there is no such thing. But, I know it could be fabricated. How is not important now though. Don't know ...
