Re: 3.6 vs 4.1 drill bit
Well, yes, as I mentioned. My question was more why would a non-metal ski ask for 4.1? What skis you got? Could you be wrong about the metal? Is there metal just in the binding plate? Or perhaps carbon fiber in the topsheet? Using 4.1 for a non-metal ski seems unicorn rare to me. Softer materials s...

Yes, unscrew heel tubes, swap, screw in heel tubes. You're good to go. That's the only difference between the large and small Axls.

Re: Spring skiing voyaging... which ski to bring?
But here's the real question! Do I NEED skins for these? I have the scales AND I have a pair of ski crampons. Would I need skins? The scales are awesome they climb up anything here at the local humptydump hill as many here can attest to with the Vector BC. If it got too steep beyond this I could pu...

Re: Switchback question
It's the grease. I had the same problem.
I think Vibratite is the answer. And you might first try teflon tape.

Bump for a very good price.
You should remove the inner spring and try them on a low setting with just the larger yellow spring in place. It's a lot of softer.

Re: What is camber?
Simple, it's the arched curve near the middle of the ski, and sometimes there are two camber areas straddling the center of the ski. If the arch is high, it's called double. If it's flat, it's called zero. Everything in between is single. Doesn't need to be complicated. Oh, and if it's bowed like a ...

Re: Black Diamond 01 binding
Here also I may need a memory check-- I recall the O2 being the first BD released in the series with the O1 and O3 coming later(?). The 02 and 03 definitely came out before the 01 because that the touring mode was still in development. I can't recall if the 02 came before or at the same time as the...

Re: Black Diamond 01 binding
Agree, I'd go with 22Designs' Axl binding. You can adjust activity level and dial it in to a similar feel (and a more solid binding).
