Re: Alpina Alaska 75 failure: again!

Actually, Jurassien, they have been really nice... Why? Because I bought the boots from an unauthorized dealer — a guy that bought a ski stock from a shop that went bankrupt... They still — Alpina sport — accepted to honor the warranty... But in the meantime, I will have to find a solution for my G...

Re: Alpina Alaska 75 failure: again!

@Rodbelan I wouldn’t hold out much hope for a reliable repair, as that is where the maximum stress on the sole comes to bear. The midsoles of 75mm boots with a stitched welt can also crack in this exact same spot. I find it unacceptable that you have to wait till next season for a replacement – esp...

Alpina Alaska 75 failure: again!

Oh man, I'm tired of this... But this time, the warranty is ok; I'll have a new pair in the coming fall — thanks to Alpina. But for the rest of the season, no boots. I wonder if there is a glue (a specialized one that would work for such a tiny crack).

Re: Open turns in Barnett's Cross-Country Downhill?

I know what you mean... I tried to figure it out in the past. Someone told me that it looks and feels like skating, a bit like a reverse telemark... a bit like a parallel turn, with more mouvement, more independence with back and front skis... There is some footage in the instructional vids from the...

Re: New Super Tele's and full thickness soles?

Excursion (the one with a thermo-moldable liner) fits both in 1st and 2d click with Rotte ST (white and purple vintage ST).

Re: Falketind 62 X with Scales

Panorama M62... Freakin' good skis. I mean, I have the older ones, without scales. Newer version has scales... Hey Rod we have the same version of the M62. Mine appear to have no nordic rocker (unless I'm missing something), how about yours? My relaxed camber when skis are base to base is 42mm, fee...

Re: Mounting a pair of T55

I still had to mount the heel riser/piece... I tried a slightly smaller drill bit — between 3 and 3.5 mm. Much better.
