Re: 78 Traverse / 88 Excursion which one? Or another?
I have been thinking of a Ski with the same characteristics as the OP discribed. The Ski that I have used the most this season are the Epochs. They are not great at anything but I can kinda do it all to some level with this Ski. It runs 99 at the shovel and 68 at the waist and was wanting to try som...

Re: The Last King. AKA: A telemarking battle movie.
Who did Sondre Norheim learn it from??? I believe it was all part of getting around and moving through that terrain while on skis that they learned different techniques. I am sure it was used in some form with a combination of other skills before it was given a name and called a style. However in th...

Re: The Last King. AKA: A telemarking battle movie.
It's a good movie with some good skiing in it. I'm reading the book now "Birkebeiner" by Jeff Foltz, a historical fiction about the events.

Little Side Step Travese, Diagonal Stride, Post Hole and
I even squeezed out a T-Turn or two. Took the the Annums out today up a creek out my back door. Had a lot of fun the Annums floated well in the deep snow and it was a good workout. It was the perfect Ski today with light leather boots and no cable. Had to remove the skis and cross the creek several ...

Re: Madshus Birkebeiner Wooden Skis
Years ago people use to store their skis during the summer months with a tennis ball in the camber pocket area with the tips and tails secured. I have never done that but might be worth a try.

Re: Madshus Birkebeiner Wooden Skis
Give them a try as they are, should be fun. I have an old pair of Karhu XCD supreme that have little camber left, I can easily press them together with a thumb and two fingers of one hand. I took them out yesterday on our hard, groomed and refrozen track and had a blast. I think getting the grip wax...

Re: Who's skiing tomorrow?
Got out today and tried the t4s. We had 3" of heavy wet snow on top of the freezing rain/slush from the past two days. The snow was fast and grabby, I used my new K2 Waybacks and my epoch. The waybacks are the fattest ski I have ever skied at 126-88-113 and they felt weird but floated very well comp...

Re: Who's skiing tomorrow?
I hope you are right. No ski today, it rained even harder as I was about to go out. We are starting to flood around here with one lane traffic on the Seward Hwy from standing water, in town is even worse.
