WTB: Asnes FT62
Perhaps a long shot, but wondering if anyone is looking to sell their FT62. Looking for 180 cm, maybe 188. Interested in either red or green version. I plan to pair with NNN BC and Alaskas. So bonus if they come with NNN BC. Please let me know if you have a pair to sell. Thanks. Tom

Re: Extreme range two ski quiver.
My two ski quiver is MR48 wax and Ingstad wax (older combat nato version). Both are fantastic, versatile 'swiss army knife' skis for the range of skiing I enjoy. Quite pleased with both of these skis.

Re: ASNES Mountain 48 skin on Magnum BC bindings?
the manual binding is much more straight forward to use. For me, other way around. Autos are so easy. I regularly use both magnums/manuals and autos. For where I live (dry snow) the auto is great. See my thread on auto from a few weeks ago. In situations where I get issues (overflow) manuals suck t...

Re: Fast technical singletrack ski?
This is awesome. Great read. I love skiing our single track cross country biking trails. I'm inspired. Thanks. I use Mountian Race 48 skis with NNN BC and light boots. Not the fastest - and I am slow - but good control.

Re: What do you carry in day packs? Backcountry XCd
I don't believe that anyone mentioned bear spray yet. This is a new addition to my winter pack the last couple of years. Winter-active brown (grizzly) bears can be old, emaciated and among the most dangerous to people in the bush. Probably never use it and I don't worry about bears at all, but it's ...

Re: Suggestions for some soft shell pants?
I found the Mammut Tatramar to be pretty nice. I’m tall, and that’s one of the few tech pants that is offered in a “long” inseam. Has side vents with mesh to keep snow out, has elastic inner cuff, lots of other features. https://www.mammut.com/us/en/p/1021-00300-0001/tatramar-so-pants-men/ No affil...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 SKIN
NNN BC is the only way to go on these, in my opinion! Dan, (ex?)-Neptune employee who we've all seen in his youtube vids has a nice post about the MR48-Wax which I just bumped into recently. .... Interestingly enough, he mounted them with NNN, instead of BC, a decision he grappled with for a bit. A...

Re: Dogs + Metal Edges
My entire skiing life has been with dogs. Knock on wood cutting them with metal edges has never been an issue. I have always had a dog that stays in front or behind me. I taught my current dog years ago "back" and she knows the drill. Taught her this hiking and mountain biking first. Good thing beca...

Re: Klister?
Good thread; good info. Thanks. I agree that klister has its place. I use either Swix universal or blue "ice" klister as conditions warrant, often with good results. No experience with red or others. Probably fine with just universal, really. I keep it pretty simple. No binders or top layers. Thin l...

Re: An anecdotal review of Amundsens from an inexperienced skier
Thanks Ben; much appreciated!
I was mostly just teasing, however. I have a pair of Asnes Rago already, which are pre- kicker skin and, I think, essentially the same ski as the Amundsen. I am tempted to upgrade to a x-skin compatible version. Maybe another season.
