Re: Ultimate mix & mash binding set-up

A friend forwarded this to me the other day. I count 3 different systems. Telemark Super Hack! Screenshot_20210426-125912.png His boots seem to have duck bills. I wonder if the boots got modified as well, to have holes for the pins in the sides of the duck bill. Yeah dude I noticed that too. Who th...

Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding System Review

So BG beat me to it. The bail compresses the duckbill down, there is actually compression across the top of the duckbill. The Chili is just a space/box for the duckbill to slide into and mainly contact on the sides, and the cable to keep it in place. There is no bail. But on a 3pin there is a bail. ...

Re: Ultimate mix & mash binding set-up

Wonder why ski brakes AND leashes. Also that is a lot of screws Probably still less than the Meidjo! He gets releasability, full climbing pivot, big power for the heel. I wonder why he has turned the Axl spring box upside down and I wonder how he secured the cables underneath the Lynx toe piece. FW...

Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding System Review

I am a bit ambivalent to locking that thread as it contained much valuable information and discussion. You could rename this topic to "The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding Review" to reduce confusion and let this be actual binding review info and discussion on that, and let the other thread c...

Re: Åsnes Waxless Skis

I think the Ingstad might work better for backcountry trails (and beginners) if the deep part of the fishscales was extended forward to the X-skin attachment point, with the A pattern near that point, and then maybe 6-10cm of shallow fishscales in front of that. At the heel end, maybe the shallow f...

Re: Crossing Lake Mille Lacs, MN Feb 2021

Epoke 1000's are my favorite of all time touring skis! Out here in Colorado they are as rare as flying pigs, although I know it was always a more popular ski in Wisconsin and Mn., and the lakes, so maybe would be easier to still find a pair in that part of the world. I feel very lucky to still own ...

Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding system

Maybe you have some surprises from Åsnes? Maybe some of their wider skis with scales? It’s not in their new catalog but maybe they were holding the announcement for a TelemarkTalk exclusivity? Nope. They will NOT develop wider skis with scales. They don't believe that this is the future, and this i...

Re: Åsnes Waxless Skis

Here's mine. 195cm Ingstad. Again, I'm 160lbs. The ski is short (I tend to like long skis) and the pattern length is still not great). I got a 205 Ingstad WAX and I'm much happier. The total pattern is 580mm long. It's OK but not great or anything to write home about. It's better than the 205cm MT51...
