Re: NNN-BC on-piste?

see previous topic "NNN-BC Leash Plates" not yet-but I attached some leashes to some old BD PolarStar skis mounted with NNN-BC bindings, using marine fittings I suggested in the topic above. I want to try these on the bunny hill at least--about my skill level at turning on XC skis., probably on a da...

Re: Hagan Off Trace Skis

This has the same dimensions as the Alpina Discovery (68) as well. The skin base might be an advantage to some, it wouldn't matter to me.

Re: What is camber?

Gareth, I weigh about 185, would my weight be over compressing my Andes USGI 200's in the striding sense. I enjoy the ski, and am generally capable of making decent telemark turns depending upon the snow conditions. I am just trying to better understand your dissertation. It seems as though I may n...

Re: Snow or none?

The Blue Mountains (NE Oregon/SE Washington) had 11 inches over the weekend. First skiing today--the earliest ever for me. Interstate 84 was closed between Pendleton (OR) and I think Ontario (OR).
Even had a 1/2 inch of snow in Walla Walla (1000 ft. elevation).

Re: Dealing with FRACKIN icy refrozen snow in the backcountry!

I am getting very excited about snow- only a few flurries yet... Rather than praying for endless stable, cold fresh snow- I have decided to do everything I can to enjoy the inevitable results of the "Chinese Hoax"- ICY, REFROZEN FRACKIN SNOW! Way back I used to stick to the groomed track and kliste...

Re: Snow or none?

Snow forecast (in Blue Mountains) again for this weekend--looks like it may stick around this time

Forecast for the northwest is for more precipitation and colder weather than average, but less snow than last year. A later start to winter, although it hasn't looked that way at times.

Re: How short for Glittertind?

If one wants a narrow Nordic ski for downhill skiing- then I would be looking at a different ski with a smoother, rounder flex. The only ski that comes to mind immediately is the Nansen- perhaps Alpina's Discovery series? I had two pairs of Alpina Discovery skis... They are the stiffest skis I have...

Re: Snow or none?

Can't be none since we have already had snow in the Blues, Elkhorn, and Wallowas.
