ok. So the verdict is: The mohair skins are MUCH BETTER. I skied 30 miles spread over 2 days, waxed green and had a terrific time. i agree with all of that but it is worth noting (hope I'm right) that the Epoch and the 10th mountain are essentially same ski with the exception of white base or black base ... I think sintered and extruded are the words but I could be wrong on that one. FWIW glide waxing my Epochs seems to be visu...

That is very inspiring. Thank you for that. I have always wanted to try it on my 10th mountains and now I'm motivated further. So when you ironed the wax into the scales it didn't gum up the scales?

I'm skiing trails east of Moosehead Lake on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Preliminary temperature forecast is highs of 27, 29 and 30 respectively.

This morning temperatures were pretty low with a midday high of 25 at Pineland Farms where I was testing.
