Re: Vector BC Binding Finding

If you want the freedom to stride and glide with the springs engaged my recommendation for a TTS set up would be: B&D plate, tech toe of your choice and a regular Switchback (not the X2) or a Hardwire backend. I had the Hardwire rod/springs previously with the B&D plate and found it very neutral. A...

Re: Vector BC Binding Finding

Is this a Vector or an UltraVector? Some people use the terms interchangeably but they are different skis. I have thoughts, assuming you have the VECTOR. I had the Vector 180cm for a season. It's a great ski, and you can rail on it. But the tail, I found, was quite stiff. (Important to note: I am no...

Re: R8 binding style on Kom ?

Isn't the blue tab for shorter feet? I don't think I would be able to use the blue tab, I thought there was a foot size limit? Am I misremembering? I think yes, you are. Blue is soft, clear is moyen and red is stiff. Noting to do with sizing... AHEM *COUGH COUGH* AHEM AHEM Pardon, j'ai une grenouil...

Re: R8 binding style on Kom ?

Hy Thanks for your help guys. I didn't know for the color... Good to know ! Switchback is a good option, but way more expenssive ! Maybe the new super télémark cable can fit with the R8 binding ? Then the flex could be soft... I need to think more about that. Fred Et... PAF MAIS, If I pull on them ...

Re: R8 binding style on Kom ?

The other thing to consider is the cartridge; blue tab, clear one or red (like in your picture). I wouldn't tour with a red one, not even with the clear one... I guess the blue ones *could* be alright. My point is: if you already have it, go for it! If not, and you need to buy it, there is better o...

Re: R8 binding style on Kom ?

Man, tu vas un peu t'ennuyer de ta mère à la montée. But it is doable... I DO agree with this! Ce'st un peu la saloperie pour monter, surtout sur les pentes raides. I would prefer 3pin Voile Hardwire or Cable to climb than a No-Pin. But if Fred wants a no-pin binding and good activity for going dow...

Re: R8 binding style on Kom ?

I don't know... a little discordance here. I have a couple pairs of these. I guess the earlier version (black and silver) is a little less stiff because of the smaller toe piece... I wouldn't compare them to the old red chili. Even with the Voile HW (no pin) with the smooth cartridge and the sort o...

Re: R8 binding style on Kom ?

Cobra R8 is a great binding for this setup. If you want, you can loosen the cartridges for long approach in, and then tighten back down for the down, and keep it tight for the yo-yo if you want, then loosen for the way back out. It's a perfect forest ski for what you are describing, especially in so...

Re: How do I ski the bumps in tele??!!

@Woodserson And here all along, I was preparing for this to turn into a discussion about where to get the best cider donut. This discussion would have been a whole different type of warfare. Carter Hill Orchard for central NH, IMO. But open to suggestions. Dare I try that VT place you mentioned? Ba...
