Re: kom vs Fischer Sbound 125 advice please

Backcountry touring in my region requires endless watercourse crossing- many of which are not frozen at various points throughout the ski season- if one is going to travel any distance, the chances are high that one will have to take off skis at various points to get across watercourses- this is rea...

Re: Crispi Futura Pro feedback.

... Agree- even with the Futura Pro all strapped up- my current experience is that the Free boot is more supportive as well- and- YES- waaay more comfortable for my feet when XC skiing! (I actually cannot personally use the Free boot over any significant distance without hurting my feet...) This wa...

Re: kom vs Fischer Sbound 125 advice please

Oh- and I don't have an Alaska 75 boot- have witnessed too many of them failing to ever buy one.

Re: kom vs Fischer Sbound 125 advice please

It is interesting that people who tend to prefer the Rotte ST are also people who tend to have thin duckbilled boots like the Alaska, just sayin. I should have been more explicit- I prefer the 3-pin bale and clamp mechanism on the Rotte ST- I prefer it because I find it smoother, easier, more effic...

If you later find that you need/want an Ingstad, it should match well with the Rabb with less overlap compared to Falketind.
+1 on this.

Re: Crispi Futura Pro feedback.

The boot is called Crispi Futura CXP here, while the non-strap version is called Futura CX. There are actually an old and newer version of Svartisen, where the newer one is a bit lower and looks more like Futura Pro, but still with a ratcheting strap. I managed to try on the Futura CX in a shop loc...

Re: Crispi Futura Pro feedback.

The only other Xplore boot I have is Alfa Free and I intend to keep both, the boots are quite different and have different strengths. Agree! I have not had the chance to test the torsional rigidity of the Crispi compared to the Free, but the Crispi Futura seems to flex forwards at the ball of foot ...

Re: Crispi Futura Pro feedback.

Thank you for the info on the new Futura Pro XP! The new boot/binding combo gives great control over the fatter ski, similar if not equal to my S98/Scott setup, This is very interesting and valuable testimonial... The slightest leg movement instantly transfers to the ski which made for much greater ...

Re: kom vs Fischer Sbound 125 advice please

I have touring skis with- Voile 3-pin cable Voile 3-pin hardwire Rottefella 75mm with cable (ie supertelemark with "cable") Although the manufacturing quality of the Voiles is superb- I much prefer the 3-pin bale of the Rottefella- MUCH prefer. IMO, the Rotte binding is best of the above for a leath...
