Re: Another 75 mm Leather Option in North America

"I wonder why/how it runs larger by 1/2 size but is 1 inch shorter?" I believe Nils is referring to the height of the cuff, not the length of the boot. The boot does seem to be a contender for the category, and I do trust Nils' knowledge and integrity; if he influenced the design it's got credibilit...

Re: Glue for boot repair

"Whichever adhesive you use, it will pay to do all you can to get any old adhesive off of the two surfaces you are hoping to adhere to each other. Otherwise, you will be sticking your new adhesive to old failed adhesive." An important note. Do all you can to remove any and all grit, waterproofing, a...

Re: Glue for boot repair

I haven't used Gorilla Glue for boot repair, so can't speak to that. I have use Shoe Goo a bunch, and the last couple of years have found Seam Grip to be better than the shoe goo for that sort of repair. Contact cement is good for sole repairs, but I think the others would be preferable for the rand.

Re: FS: Garmont Excursion tele boots. Northern VT size 26/26.5

Suggestion: Might want to add a pic of the pinholes, as lots of folks would be using them with some flavor of 3 pins. Just curious, where in Northern VT? I'm in Montgomery.

"Never fear! Klister is easily removed by sprinkling with baby powder and scraping. I personally think a beer is almost as important as the baby powder as it turns the scraping into a more pleasurable chore. BTW blue klister on refrozen can be awesome" All good advice from fisheater on the klister (...

Re: Norwegian welt vs the rubber rand

"If I wanted to have maximum control with a leather boot I should probably replace them every few seasons, but that's not practical." A valid observation, to be sure. Complicated by the fact that by the time the forward flex on a stout Norwegian welted leather is broken in, the uppers are starting t...

Re: Mukluks, mukluks, muks...

They have a lot of appeal for me, and have for years. Strongly considered a pair when replacing my 30+ year old Sorel's a few years ago. I'm in northern VT, and cold and wet is part of our winters. And, I found even the Sorel's were a sloppy fit for wearing for much distance; both styles pictured ab...

Question on the Crispi Bre's

First, let me say I did indeed do a search here for info, but I think I'll need to hear from someone who actually has a pair. I'm wondering how high the cuff of the boot is; I have a sweet old pair of Alico's, but the cuff height doesn't quite work for me, I'm hoping the Bre's might be taller. My Al...
