"If not for XCD, what for?"
They were intended as a tele binding, for what you may considering as "steep and deep". They were innovative when they first appeared, but they were rather problematic and didn't last very long on the market. Breakage was fairly common. I'd avoid them.

"Perhaps one of the Burnt Mtn Designs 3pin bindings?

Burnt Mtn Designs closed down a few years ago. Some very cool bindings, which ski quite well, but no longer available.

Re: I need a lift ski.
I'd bet there are plenty more older K2's out there, or will be, if you're not finding them at the moment. I had a pair of the TM22's, skied 'em mostly lift serve and side country.Didn't care for them, personally. Lightweight (and not durable) foam core, odd flex, longish turning radius. I didn't kee...

Re: What to mount on Voile V6
Thanks for the update. Given the full picture, I'm recommending you just get the standard Switchback binding, and be done with it. The V6 is a lot of ski for T3's or 4's, and the Switch's will maximize those boots' preformance. Regarding mounting, I'd use some, if not all, wooden plugs for the old h...

Re: What to mount on Voile V6
Not sure exactly what you mean by a "3 pin Switchback". A few questions to clarify: By referencing the Switchback, do you mean you want to have a free pivot option? By "3 pin", do you mean, literally, that you want pins on the binding? Or, do you mean you want the 3 hole toe piece mount specifically...

Re: Shipping skis?
"Can you get away with wrapping flat skis spooned together in newspaper and taping the hell out them?" Yes. I received a pair shipped that way once. What I suggest for flat skis is to mail them in the spooning configuration, but get some cardboard a little longer than the skis (or use two pieces if ...

Re: Scarpa T3 Telemark Ski Boots 2nd Gen size 9.25 / 42.5 / 27.25 $150 USD or $200 CAD
I'd go for these if I hadn't got Excursions a few years ago. Scarpa's always gave me a better fit, but the T4 don't work for me. These look just right.

Re: New Alico 75mm Boots on the Altai US store!
"women’s boot is lasted a little narrower in the heel and I tend to have narrow heels, especially my right heel. Maybe I should go with a women’s fit?" I probably would, my foot's low volume, narrow, and I've gotten a better fit on a couple of boots that way (if they make the women's model in your s...
