Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots
one more size comparison - here are the 47 Rifugio next to my "size 12 Wide" Ski Marches from England. They look the same size but the Ski March has more padding & stuff inside. Ski March is much heavier and stiffer, it's a real beast. You can see it's got some kind of full-length midsole glued to t...

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots
my prized collection of Italian leather! 46.5 Zenith on the left, 47 Rifugio in the middle, 47 Antarctic on the right. Once I start the stretching process they'll never look the same: IMG_1877.JPG Here is the Antarctic on the left and Rifugio on the right - Refiguio is at least a half-size bigger. R...

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots
this is a great discussion! fisheater yes the Antarctic are far lighter than Ski March, the Antarctic are slightly heavier than Alaska and more supportive for turns. The uppers break into a very soft & comfortable boot and the 75mm sole is solid & good for turning, especially compared to the NNNBC s...

Re: Åsnes Gamme
LC - I think all the answers to your questions are "yes" IMO. The chord center basically tells you where the midpoint of the ski length is located, there's no special significance to it. I noticed that BP on my 2011-vintage E99 210's was about 1.5 inches behind CC, then I got the Gamme 54 210's and ...

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots
TM - the Refugios are $340 shipped from Adventure Nordique in France, all sizes in stock - better get moving! They may go on sale in the spring, but who knows what sizes will be left. I warned everyone for 2 years in a row that the Zeniths were on sale in Australia, now that opportunity is gone - yo...

Re: Åsnes Gamme
FWIW I would stick w/ BP. The forward location is an advantage of this ski vs. E99 IMO - the BP is located at the same spot as chord center on all my Asnes skis. They handle and glide like full-on XC skis but turn better and feel more responsive this way.

Re: Sbounds...leathers
Is it a secret where "Telecamp" is located? Sounds like an in-joke that I'm not hip, cool, non-binary, or woke enough to get. It sounds like there's some serious ski-loving going on there, though. somewhere in the northern VT woods, east of the main of the spine of the Greens, they make you ski in ...

Re: Antarctica trek
interesting, so these guys are basically skiing a 75-mile, 8000" vertical groomer down to the coast at the end.
It looks lke there's a lot more sponsorhip money available today than back in 96 for Ouseland. He skied the thick part of the continent. Amazing. it was probably colder then as well.

>>>Long live Andrew and its totally random worlwide teleboot distribution network!!! Thanks so much for your sleuthing! I can't believe the Rifugios are available, what a find, I am definitely ordering a pair ASAP! The Andrew Zenith are wider than Crispi Antarctic, they stretched really well for me,...
