Re: Making waxless skis waxed?
Makes sense, the wax I have applied thus far has stayed in the recesses and worn off the ridges, but I've just been putting Swix blue directly on the grip section. After reading Lilcliffy's waxing thread, once they are smooth enough I will iron on some polar wax as a binder, I figure this will smoot...

Re: Making waxless skis waxed?
Thanks, I think I will give it a go! They don't have metal edges and I have access to some decent tools so can hopefully make a decent job of it. Will try to document what I'm doing and provide details for others who may be thinking about trying the same thing. However, in the interests of transpare...

Making waxless skis waxed?
Bear with me ;) I have an old pair of Rossignol XC skis with waxless "AR" bases. They are my early/late season/bad snow ski as I have other, newer skis for decent conditions. I still enjoy skiing them, however the grip section is becoming rather worn and no longer grips well during the kick phase. T...

Re: BCXC binding mount 15mm behind the balance point?
Depends on the ski, but I think in general moving the binding back gives more glide, but less grip. Moving it forward does the opposite. Having the binding further back will probably also make them more stable on downhills.

Re: NNN-BC boot fit advice
I've had a few pairs of Rossi boots: X-6 classic, X-6 skate and X-5 OT (all track boots, not BC) as I can get them cheap through my work and they fit my feet really well (narrow heels). I've been very happy, the only issue I've had with every pair is the plastic lace locks. It's just not secure enou...

Re: Rottefella's latest evolution of adjustable NNN mounting- the "MOVE SYSTEM"
I guess this is Rottefella's response to the Turnamic binding, nice to be able to adjust without taking the skis off. Anyone know if there will be a Turnamic BC binding? Seems odd for Fischer and Rossignol to develop their own binding but still selling their BC skis with Rottefellas...

Re: Antarctica trek
Some of you might find this podcast interesting, it's an interview with Lou a couple of days before he set off to Antarctica. He talks about the logistics and motivation involved in a trip like this. http://paulkirtley.co.uk/2018/lou-rudd-on-the-motivation-to-traverse-antarctica-solo-unsupported-and...

Re: Can I screw NNN-BC bindings to NIS plates?
Hi! I've been lurking on this forum for a while but recently registered and thought I could add my 2p worth to this thread. I have a pair of those Rossignol OT-5 boots you mention, which I used the whole of last season. I live in Oslo (Norway) and have mainly used them in the forested areas outside ...
