Re: How to shim a 3-Pin binding to add a little 'ramp'
Wow... Seek and ye shall find. Look what I had lurking in my telemark junk box!
I thought I'd gotten rid of that years ago. Hoard reward.- Mon Jan 02, 2023 1:06 pm

How to shim a 3-Pin binding to add a little 'ramp'
Looking for ideas. I have a pair of Fischer Rebound skis with Voile HD Mountaineer bindings, which are regular 75mm 3-pin bindings. I have a pair of Crispi CXT 2-buckle plastic touring boots that I'd like to use with those Fischer Rebound skis. Here's where I encounter a problem... Those boots are c...

Do these have the long rods? Or the short rods?

Re: Last weekend was nice (Catskills)
Funny, I was just checking on weather here... I'm down in the valley, about an hour drive from the central Catskills. The NWS says it snowed a couple of inches in the hills yesterday, then rained a couple inches last night into this morning, and now it's windy and snowing a little bit but freezing u...

Re: New 75mm Bindings
Hey hey lowangle al, First off, no, I haven't tried on a pair of T4. I should, just to see. I have tried on T2X and T2eco, and that last will not work with my feet. I have a tailor's bunion on my left foot that requires a bit of punching out of the shell on the left side of my left foot metatarsal a...

Re: New 75mm Bindings
I've been monkeying around with my vintage Crispi boot collection. I think I need to take back a little of what I was saying earlier... The CXP is definitely stiffer than the CXA, but not by much. The CXA is softer flexing all around than the CXP, but it still feels fairly stiff, like a downhill-ori...

Re: New 75mm Bindings
Thanks for the photos. I'm going to try that. Maybe tomorrow while it rains buckets here, all day. :( Re: CXA - I actually have a pair. I was hoping they'd be noticeably softer flexing than the CXP, especially in the bellows, but really they seem like very close to the same boot, just less tall. The...

Re: New 75mm Bindings
Wow, another CXP fan! I thought I was alone out here. The tour/walk mode switches on my CXPs broke long ago. I'm always skiing in walk mode. Were you able to completely remove the metal bar and switch mechanism from the backs of the boots? How did you do that? Could you post photos showing what that...

Last weekend was nice (Catskills)
Last weekend, I went out alone into a favorite little pocket of my local hills. The snow was pretty deep, 2 feet to maybe a little more. The best open woods with a nice downward were a bit crusted up from the morning's mid-30s F temperature, but I was able to stay in control using stemmed telemarks ...
