Re: Dogs + Metal Edges

Completely agree with everyone here, it's all about you and your dog. I'll relate my own experience on why I don't ski with my doggo. My dog did not respond to training of any kind in this regard, he has proven himself to be a bad trail companion for skiing, primarily because he refuses to not herd ...

Re: Filling in the Groove

Cabinet scraper and burnisher — now we’re talking tools! While we’re on the topic of grooves and scrapers, the scrapers I’m seeing are mostly round (like the round grooves on wooden skis of old). Yet the grooves on my Asnes skis are very low profile and flat bottom, making the groove scrapers I’m s...

Re: Filling in the Groove

This is my thought BG

I could probably write a book with his tips, he's got a lot to say on the subject. Especially about cabinet scrapers and how to hide wax stains on the clothes iron from your wife.

Filling in the Groove

I was waxing my skis last night and got to talking with the father in law about how they used to do things back when he was skiing. As I reached for the "pencil groove scraper" (a Pentel Sign pen cap) he asked me if I had ever thought to NOT clear the groove, preaching its value as a way to add "a l...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Still Waiting on the base to come in here in VT.
First two are from the laps we're doing to keep fitness up while the woods fill in.
Last is a little bit of "wish it was deeper" off the side of some (very boney) logging roads.

Got a second wax of the season in yesterday.
Almost TOO slippery.

Re: Skiing with Orthotics

Thanks Leo!

I'm going to look at some softer off the shelf options today or sometime.
I see we're losing our snow here in VT so I'm not in a hurry.

Appreciate your detailed response!

Re: Skiing with Orthotics

Hi Leo, appreciate your repsonse They are plastic full length ss.orthotics brand that were fitted by my chiro using a foam "step in" thingie They're not noticably taller in the heel cup than the stock Fischer insoles, but they do not squish like the Fischers do. The stock Fischer BCX5 insole has a f...

Skiing with Orthotics

Hello everyone, I have a quick question about orthotics and skiing. Long story short, do you ski with orthotics, how do you correct heel lift, are there some off the shelf options out there for wonky foot folks like me who need extreme arch support that aren't so dang thick? I've recently been recom...

Re: Share your Pre Season, work out routines

Hi Heelbillie I'll share mine, though I know there's a training thread heating up at the top of the forum (as of this reply). I'm 31yr, 190lb, very experienced with my current routine in so far as it's what I do every summer, but looking at this ski season as my second full season on my NNNBC set up...

WTB Switchback mounted ski

Looking to push my rice crispy knees to the limit this season.

Got a switch back mounted ski good for variable east coast snow?
I am 190lb

Thank you!
