Re: It exists! Fischer Excursion 88 in a 199cm!!!

Well, I bought the Excursion 88 in 199 and had the magnum bindings mounted. All said and done, one Excursion 88 at 199cm with magnum bindings weighs 1,596 grams on my digital scale. This is pretty much 1 lb more per ski than my old skinny 210 skis that are all I've ever known so far. The boots are o...

Re: Size and Ski Question

Micah E.--I was out shoveling 2-3 inches off my sidewalks in Walla Walla this morning . I might check out the golf course later. If not, later this week looks promising. Yes, we got a couple of inches as well in Pendleton. Last night I went skiing on the levy and through the ungraveled streets back...

Re: Request for input - current gen E99 vs Ingstad waxless

Don't know much about the Nansen other than- - less camber than an E-99-class ski - softer flex than an E-99-class ski - much less tip rocker than the Ingstad BC/E-109 - more sidecut than E-99-class ski- similar to the Ingstad/E-109 The Nansen seems to be somewhat in a class of its own at the momen...

Re: Request for input - current gen E99 vs Ingstad waxless

Hello MicahE- I've been going through some of the same questions, not too far from you either (Idaho Palouse). Another E99-class option you might consider is Madshus' new Panorama M55 Intelligrips. I went back back and forth between those and the E99 Crowns, and ended up pulling the trigger on the ...

Re: Request for input - current gen E99 vs Ingstad waxless

A couple more issues before you pull the trigger on a Fischer E-99- What are your personal specs again- over 200lbs without a pack? If, so- I really think you should consider a ski with a stiffer tip- such as the Gamme 54 BC. I find the current 210cm E-99 Xtralite stable enough in deep soft snow- d...

Re: Request for input - current gen E99 vs Ingstad waxless

The Ingstad BC is a XC ski that is narrowly focused towards deep soft snow and hilly/steep terrain. The E-99-class ski is a XC ski that is designed to be highly versatile and perform on all BC snow conditions and still be manageable in hilly terrain. (There other BC-XC skis that are even more effic...

Re: Size and Ski Question

On DEEP SOFT SNOW- the current Ingstad BC will do everything an E-99-class ski will do and MORE. The current Ingstad BC is finely tuned for deep soft snow- and steep/hilly terrain. The Ingstad BC- though still offering considerable XC tension underfoot- has less camber and stiffness underfoot than ...

Re: Size and Ski Question

I personnally own both the E99 and 205 Ingstad and I love them both but I’d I had one to choose I would pick the Ingstad as they float better in deep snow and also they are easier to turn for me. I'm trying to decide between these two skis, are your versions of these skis both current generation? I...

Request for input - current gen E99 vs Ingstad waxless

I have read many accounts of many skis here, thank you all so much. If anyone has experience skiing the current generation of E99 and Ingstad skis, I would appreciate reading their impressions. Me: 210 lbs, looking for first BC setup, finally found great fitting boot: Alpina BC-1600. My other ride w...

Re: Lake-Skiing: Compact skis vs traditional skis (Fischer 78/88 vs E-99/Gamme 54)

Your recent comments/experiences within the Fischer line sure make me second guess buying the 78/88 in favor of getting the E99.

What terrain/conditions do you think the E99 would be worse than the 78/88's (if any)?

I finally found a boot that feels great, Alpina BC-1600. Skis are next.

Thanks
