Re: Boot sizing advice please
You should email or call Scarpa customer service and ask them these fit questions, as they would probably know the right answers. I did talk to them and sounds like the mondopoint scale on their size chart actually doesn't reference an actual direct foot length measurement, but is just a translatio...

That looks like an awesome endeavour, well done! Great photos too. It looks like Dvnafit toepieces on the later Glittertinds. Did you have a heel piece too - or go full Johnny

Re: Telemark 101, The Stance
I still think back fondly to the days when Dickie Hall did his tele camps. He did one above the Mt. Baker ski area in the late eighties or maybe the early nineties (age and decrepitude is doing a number on my memory :D ). My one main takeaway was “step the uphill ski back”. The lightbulb came on and...

Re: Skimo on Teles
I I'm not sure they were the Race Lemons but they were the majority of what I saw. However, I'm not entirely sure how you're going to Telemark in boots with no bellows I think he’s talking about the older Scarpa F1 AT boots with bellows. Scarpa discontinued them I guess, because of liability fears ...

Re: Physics debate
I am having a distinct sense of “deja vu” reading this train wreck of a thread. The old Telemarktips was a wonderful resource for advice, trip reports, hooking up with ski partners and just all around good banter. Then every so often someone would come along with a post, which provoked a s**t show a...

Re: New to Skiing - Northern Canada
I suddenly thought how neat it would be to stand in the Whistler Gondola line up on a powder day with a pair of those skis. All those young dudes with their slarvy, dual rocker 115mm underfoot skis would give me props - or not

Re: I thought this was a Telemark/Cross Country Forum?
Speaking as an old grizzled veteran from the last century ski forums I smile. I started on the old Telemarque forum in the late nineties. That went away and Mitch Weber, God bless his soul, stepped up with Telemarktips. That was a wonderful site - I met all my free heel partners in the Vancouver com...

Re: Black Diamond guru ski question
As Rod says, why not. At 75mm at the waist and 123mm at the tip it would be a really quick turner. Plus you could use leather boots with a waist that narrow. My 75mm waist ski ( Hagan Ride) is 112 at the tip for comparison and turns well with Alaskas.

Re: Leather boot set up with best downhill control?
I’ve found the Alpina Alaska combined with Rottefella Super Telemark Cable to provide pretty good downhill control. Three pins only for k&g and attach the hardwires for the descent. I have them on a pair of Hagan Ride (76 cm underfoot) so wider underfoot than your Alpina 102’s.
