Re: Garmont Cruiser Leather Boots
I received a response from Marco at snowpatroller.org, he did not have the boots in my size, so I do not have any decision to make in regards to that boot. I also looked at the Alico Double at Sierra Trading Post. I may regret passing on that boot someday. I have a double boot of approximately the s...

Garmont Cruiser Leather Boots
Does anybody know anything about these boots? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Scarponi-da-telemark-boots-75mm-Garmont-Cruiser-leather-pelle-2-leve-bockles-/231050166477?hash=item35cba9c0cd:g:XvUAAMXQIrFSLK5x I wouldn't mind something lighter and with a bit more feel than my T-4's. I do not know much about l...

Re: What do you do when you can't ski?
I like to ride my mountain bike, but I also enjoy fishing out of my solo canoe. I should be looking ahead to check wind forecast for Lake Huron, but I just didn't get enough skiing in this season and I am lamenting the season's end in these parts'. I did well extending my fishing into December on La...

Re: Of boots and such...
Mike
Are your boots size 10 US or UK? My T-4's are 10-10 1/2, mondo 28.5.
I am looking for a lighter boot for my USGI Combat skis, and I want something a little lighter and faster than what I am on.
Thanks,
Bob
BTW The Merrill's are sold

Re: Of boots and such...
Just curious as to how the sizing runs. My everyday day shoes and boots are 11, so I think I am out. My T-4's are 10-10 1/2, that is all I can find on them, I could not find a Mondo size. I looked at my old Raichle Flexon alpine boots and they are marked 9-9 1/2. Where all these boots wide? I do not...

Re: Why telemark...
I was hooked on the Telemark turn during the opening of the Lilliheimer Winter Olympics. I had been very curious and interested prior to that opening ceremony from seeing a few telemarkers from time to time. When I watched that train of skiers, snapping off Telemark turns skiing down the ski jump, I...

Re: Mounting 3 pin bindings
binding photo.png Thanks for all the help. The skis arrived last night. They definitely are a true x-country ski. I will follow the advice here and mount on the BP. My favorite epoxy is JB-Weld, it is a 24 hour cure. I used it to repair a cracked exhaust manifold once. It held for a couple of years...

Re: What is your preferred go-to BC setup?
I voted XCD, but after following the forum for a couple weeks perhaps on this forum. would my gear would be in the light tele category? Where do S-Bound 112's,T-4's and 3-pin Hardwires belong XCD or light tele? My feelings will not be hurt, I have fun sliding on my gear. I am pretty impressed by som...

Re: My Ski History by anemic
Anemic, I am in Oakland County, Mi. For what it is worth, in my limited eastern travel, I have found eastern ice to be at least as bad as Michigan ice. Usually Lake Michigan creates a freshening on the snow belt areas of the LP, while the UP stays pretty cold consistently and does not seem to ice to...

Re: Mounting 3 pin bindings
The skis are the Anses USGI Combat Skis. The binding are Voile 3-pin cables. I am going 3 pin because I ski on T-4 boots. The cable is removable and it will probably stay in the pack. I have some S-bound 112's, that I enjoy, but not really the best choice for a quick kick around the groomed trail. T...
