Re: XPlore boots comparison
I’ve skied the Pioneer Pro, Alpha Free, and Fischer BCX Traverse now- all size 44. I’m 6’, 215ish pounds, and aggressive in the snow. The Pioneer- this is a seriously nice boot. Lightweight, good flexibility, stiff enough to give a sense of control. Taking out the insole gave me needed roominess, m...

Re: Slow Night so I Thought I would Talk About my Transit Mount
Nice setup. I’ve got the new Transit too. Waiting on more snow in the backcountry before trying them since I got new skis too. On another note, I scored some brand new 2024 Ultravectors BCs for half off. I couldn’t pass it up. One thing I noticed is the new 2024 skis have more camber and slight less...

@Tom M
Tom how’s your season going so far in northern Wyoming? Not too great down here in southern Wyoming. Conditions okay but nothing to write home about.

Re: Wide Last Xplorer Boot?
Well I’m on the hunt again for new boots. The Alfa 43 Vistas are okay. But longer tour I want to take them off. Getting odd heel blisters and the 43 seems a bit short after skiing more for my size 11 wide foot. I think the 44 would have been too big. The boot also offers very little control on the ...

Re: Lundhags Guide Explore BC Boot too tight...
I’ve had the Alaska and Alfa Vista. Alaska’s never worked with my wide feet. The Alfa vista is a little wider than the Alaska but I’ve had heel blister problems with it. The Vista I feel needs a little more room in toe area because it seems wider near ball of foot but then goes pretty narrow near t...

Re: F1 duck butt
I’ve got the F3s and have not even considered adding a duck butt. I’ve pretty much given up on NTN bindings and NTN boots due to the icing and boot jack issues in deep backcountry powder. Ive had problems with Lynx and my friend had same issues with Miedjo. When all your friends are getting multiple...

Re: Waxing new skis with fish scales
I’ve had the best luck with Dominator Hard rub on wax. It’s expensive but last all day before needed reapplied and comes in wet or new snow hard blocks. Butter works great in spring/early summer wet snow conditions and no issues with glop or snow sticking to scales. For normal winter conditions I us...

Re: Fischer 23/24 EZ skin models.
My 78 are made in China and my new Brown Sbound are made in Austria according to top sheet but the sticker says Ukraine. My 78 are missing the easy skin while the 98s have them. My guess is anything made in China doesn’t have the skin attachment. The build quality is also not as good on the 78 vs 98.
