Re: Dog Questions
I can add another 1st-hand account of a dog getting injured. I put a massive laceration into my 1st german shepherd's front leg while snowboarding, doing jump-turns down steep terrain. She was super-excited for the run and for some reason made jumping attacks toward the snowboard. She had gone with ...

Re: Good ski for touring in mountainous New England terrain
so Ragged's got some Asnes skis, excellent news! Is this the first year? What other models did they get? I'd like to think having all my Asnes skis mounted by their expert tech staff over the years had something to do with this! They were always in awe of the quality. I think I had 5 or 6 pairs moun...

Re: Finmark Alternative (Skis without Metal Edge)
You've stumbled onto the "Maginot Line"-like barrier between Asnes and traditional XC skis, they don't seem to want to make them, which is a shame. I was looking for the same thing as you and ended up with the MT51's. They're so light and the partial edge doesn't seem to slow down the glide much so ...

Re: Get a Grip; Asnes Waxless Ski Test Fail
It's not you, it's the skis, the Asnes waxless pattern is too short to provide grip in anything but bone-dry cold powder IME

Re: Advice needed from Toko wax users
any kind of warm-temp wax on fresh dry snow is going to be a nightmare! Have to get it off. This is why a lot of people have mulitple skis & leave one waxed with warmer-temp wax or, god forbid, klister......

Re: Asnes skins question, best width
If you want any kind of downhill glide with these Asnes skins you need either very narrow or a wider one that's been shortened. IMO for ice a shortened wider one is best, for wet/slush snow the full length 30 or 40 is better. To shorten a wider one, cut it off an inch behind the heel plate of your b...
