Re: Summit Cone No Wax Skis
So, would you say it's heavier and damper than the Vector/Kom based on your experience with it's smooth based analogues? I really want a waxless alpine ski for bigger BC stuff, that can handle our typically lousy conditions, as well as stomping around resorts, ducking ropes and generally effing arou...

Re: NTN, some relief, Outlaw, WHY, personal blogpost/whining
I'm an ugly 13/13.5/31+, with a golf ball sized bunion on one foot, wide forefoot and a narrow heel, like some sort of neanderthal mutant. A punched out 31 T4 is a good, snug fit. I scored a (1st gen?) TX from the Ragged basement a couple years back and after having them punched out in quite a few s...

Re: Summit Cone No Wax Skis
Been eyeing those myself. I want a bigger, heavier fishscale ski than the objectives, which are a bit sketchy on frozen chop and boiler plate, breakable crust, etc.. I like the woodgrain topsheet, and the price as well.

Re: Telehiro on Xplore
That guy is a pretty talented skier, his vids are great. He looked good, but he also looks good on NNN/XC kit.
Is it any more powerful than NNNBC with the same boot? Will more powerful boots ever emerge for this system?
I'd hate to fumble around with the bumpers in powder....

Re: Ski Claws
FWIW, I read a thread with the creator on some message board I don't remember, and he was defensive and hostile to everyone. The internet can bring out the worst in people.... Some people don't take criticism well and some people over criticize. Its a very different product. Personally I don't hate...

Re: Ski Claws
Interesting, cool to see a new idea. I'm always intrigued by gadgets but I don't know how practical it really is. I don't think I'd want my binding sliding around, and I suspect they offer ample opportunity for ice and snow buildup, and would possibly freeze up in a disadvantageous position. Also mo...

Re: Does Fischer Transnordic 66 + 82 make sense?
In my experience, the waxless base glides much better than with an ez skin, and the skins can be a bit grabby on a descent, making descending and turning with them on a bit tricky. The ez skins are great for climbing in crusty conditions or unconsolidated cold fresh snow, where the scales are slippi...

Re: Do ya think US is biggest XC market?
Speaking from a perspective of local observation, XC is more popular than it was (10?) years ago when I started out.. Parking lots at Nordic centers are often packed and I never seem to have the trails to myself anymore, and these last 3 years have been terrible in terms of conditions. I also tend t...

Re: Good deals on BC nordic skis
Damn you, thats where I go late season to score my deals! My ponds gonna get fished out now....
Seriously though, they really broadened their offerings this year, now carrying Asnes and Alpina.
Almost a shame I'm on a lift serve/frontside kick these days.
