Wow Lo-Fi -- What boots do you use in those Voile Hardwires on your Koms? Leathers? I guess you leave the preload really loose?

Re: Madshus Panorama 78
I'm hefty at 190 lbs and ski Annums in 175cm length with Switchback bindings and 3-buckle plastic boots (Crispi CXP). I use them as my Northeast tree skiing/bushwhacking/powder turns ski when I want something that's lighter and glides better than Voile Vector BC -- which is a real *slug* on the flat...

Re: Elan Ripstick mounting point question...
I don't mind any conversation about skis! :) I've been mounting my skis BOF on CRS for years now, although I did end up preferring my Madshus Annum skis mounted pins on cord center. But I'm not sure I ever did find the best spot for the last two downhill skis I've skied, Dynastar Cham 97 HM (with a ...

How to remove SNS-XA bindings without destroying them (or the skis)?
Hi, I have a pair of vintage 2004 Karhu Pegasus XCD skis with Salomon SNS-XA bindings on them. This past weekend, both boots disintegrated. Their soles cracked. Curtains for the boots. The problem is, I can't buy new boots because SNS-XA and SNS-BC have been abandoned. So I have to remove the bindin...

Re: Karhu Catamount W/ 3pin: Would you use risers? Should I?
Maybe you already know this, but just in case... You can buy 10mm or 20mm risers from Voile. They have the holes on top for your 3-pin binders. Nice pair of Extremes you got there. I'm nursing my pair along. Was just on them this past weekend. What a great boot... if they don't murder your ankles. F...

Elan Ripstick mounting point question...
Hi everybody, I finally got my new pair of Elan Ripstick 96 skis mounted with Switchback X2 bindings, with the center of the boot sole right over the 'Ride' mark on the ski. I took the new rig out yesterday, and wow! That's the turniest ski I've ever been on. I mean, I was able to make the quickest ...

Re: Is there a list of all the XCD and Versatile skis and their traits?
I think the first thing to do would be to list all the skis you can find that fit this description. I'll start... Madshus Panorama M62 Madshus Panorama M68 Madshus Panorama M78 Fischer S-Bound 98 Fischer S-Bound 112 Rossignol BC 80 Positrack Rossignol XP 120 Positrack Asnes Ingstad Waxless Voile Obj...

Re: Is there a list of all the XCD and Versatile skis and their traits?
We could compile a list right here. Would take just a little bit of work, that's all.
First, let's define the skis we're talking about. Is this list only for Nordic backcountry/XCD type skiing? Alpine touring and downhill-specific telemark also?

Voile Switchback X2 - Hardwire hooks too big? Rubbing too hard?
Hey out there, Has anyone bought a pair of Voile Switchback X2 bindings lately in which the hooks at the toepiece end of the hardwires are larger than they used to be, and cause a lot of friction in the toepiece hinges? I just got a set of X2s, pre-owned but unused, and the hardwires don't swing fre...
