Re: Suggestions for some soft shell pants?

............ Verskis! Great to hear from you! Hope you and yours are well! Gareth Thanks Gareth, I am doing well, hope you are too! The last winter was so bad (absolutely no snow) in my area that I lost my interest to even visit this forum, but this winter I can ski again and that has renewed my in...

Re: Suggestions for some soft shell pants?

I like Tierra.Ace pants. They have waterproof cuffs, knees and ass, but everywhere else they are really nice and thick(ish) soft shell fabric. Cuffs can be extended to fit over large ski boots, but they fit pretty well even when non-extended. The only thing that could be better is the fit in the cro...

This will be a bit of a letdown for everybody waiting for pictures of nice woodsy hills, but since you asked...
My testing grounds for the S Bounds were some small bunny hills on farm fields.

Re: Kicker skins suck, wax and fishscales rule!

I would love to be able to share more pictures with you, but unfortunately we have lost all the snow due to abnormally high temperatures. It was +5°C and raining this morning! In January! Luckily, I was to ski around a bit with S Bounds on central Finland during the Christmas time. Verskis- Great to...

Re: Kicker skins suck, wax and fishscales rule!

Woodserson and Bgregoire, maybe I am just overenthusiastic at the moment, because the fishscales seemed to work so well on recent conditions. But I know that with the skins I would not have been nearly as happy. I know they have their place on real mountains ( at least full length skins) but on my m...

Re: Kicker skins suck, wax and fishscales rule!

Fisheater, I don't know how the S Bounds will handle hardpack, but we have enough warm and soft cinditions that I suppose I will be happy on the S Bounds even if they don't handle hardpack all that well. In the soft snow they were really good, in my opinion.

Re: Kicker skins suck, wax and fishscales rule!

I love my XCD-GT's! Since you now have a quiver to choose from, consider using one of the waxables as a dedicated klister ski for warm conditions; there's some excellent skiing to be had with waxables and klister. Sorry, I don't want to mess with klister. I plan on using the fishscale S Bounds duri...

Kicker skins suck, wax and fishscales rule!

Before last week I had never tried a fishscale ski since being a toddler, but now I am a total believer (when the conditions are not good for grip waxing). Let me start by telling my short XCD ski history: I started a few years ago with an OAC Kar147 skis, which were a great gateway drug into this w...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

I just noticed that my both pairs of Alico Ski Marches are defective. I have a pair of size 10 boots, where the other boot has a slightly wonky sole. It is twisted along it's longitudal axis. I also have a pair of size 9 boots, where the soles are not of equal length. I believe the actual boot is th...

Re: Another new Rotte binding

Nice! I hope it has a more forward pivot position (compared to Voile) like in the old Rottefella Chili to make it less active. I can't stand cross country skiing with cable on the Voiles, but the Chili is tolerable. Why xc ski with the cable, when you can remove them and use only the pins? Simply pu...
