Re: Madshus Glittertind BOOTS! Initial review - NNN-BC

Great idea! Too late for one of my boots but I still have some strap worth saving on the other...

Re: The Great North American ASNES FEVER!

IIRC Neptune carries the FT62 but not much bigger from Asnes, definitely never seen their poles there! I moved about 30 minutes from my previous almost-accross-the-street spot so I don't stop in as often. The new owners really went all out though, the place has a coffee bar, climbing wall and three ...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

I don't know how much you weigh- but my personal experience and testing is that I do not generally notice any difference in flotation between my 54mm-waisted E99s and 60-62mm-widthed skis (e.g. Eon/E109). To me it seems like the 105 tip vs the 76 on the nansen would made a big difference, also abou...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

Damn the weak $CAN- that is actually a very good price for a FT68. I paid that much for my Storetinds on clearance! Neptune's website is still a mess- I cannot find the FT68 on it. HBS- you interested in the FT for its extra flotation over the Nansen- or, is it the downhill performance? If you call...

Re: Falketind 62 Review

Turns out Neptune carries the FT 68 - but at ~$530 a pair it's not going to happen this year. Maybe next winter!

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Thanks for the update! The 62 sounds pretty perfect - my Nansens are great for say <6" of new snow or on packed to icy trails. The trend here in winter is anything over ~25-30 degrees is too avalanche prone until the corn harvest begins in mid-late April. We have the weakest snow pack in the country...

Re: The Åsnes Thread

It was either the 62 or the 68 - I'll check next time I swing by (maybe they'll be on sale after this craptacular winter)

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Thanks fisheater - I live down the street and last time I stopped by there were several pairs of 62s i believe but wasnt aware if the 68s existence so i may have confused them. The trails here are tight and there are slim pickings for open trees or meadows to get turns in so all my skiing is on trai...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

After reading these reviews, how could I *not* buy a $65 raffle ticket? Unfortunately... the darned things don't fit. UK size 11 wide. They fit like a roomy US 12. PM me if interested (I'm in NH). Can anyone else comment on fit? I'm a 29.5 mondo or 45 euro or 11.5 US with a very wide forefoot. The ...

Interview with a monster (external article)

Thought you guys would really enjoy this epic tele-trip: https://mountainwagon.com/the-blog/interview-with-a-monster I am so used to these kinds of things being done on AT skis it was refreshing to see a tele setup although it looks like a tech binding with a tele heel? The crevasse self rescue setu...
